The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) has announced that it is to cut 215 full-time jobs, with work moving to India.

Eh why?  I thought we owned the fucking thing?   Why are our politicians letting them move jobs from the UK to India?

This is a perfect example of why Scotland should be independent.  We have no control over our institutions.  We bailed out this BRITISH company, then Cameron stands by and lets them move jobs to India?  Can you imagine Alex Salmond letting that happen, if of course we had control over our own affairs?

I don't see it.  We have to have more control over our politicians!

THE CRASS LEVEL OF THE LIBDEMS IN SCOTLAND

This is a poster which appeared on the Scottish Libdum's Facebook page.  The First Minister of Scotland is currently in Qatar to drum up business for Scotland.  He mentioned in a speech that there are many similarities between Scotland and Qatar, particularly in oil, gas, education and low-carbon economies.

  The image, showing a mock up of what appears to be a 'darkened' or unshaven First Minister in Arab head-dress next to a camel, could be construed as racist.  The accompanying text makes three outright lies about the First Minister in an attempt to scare voters into voting against Scottish independence.

The image clearly alleges that the First Minister is homophobic.  However Alex Salmond has made clear his support for lesbian and gay rights and has spoken in favour of the introduction of gay and lesbian marriage on a par with heterosexual marriage.

The image also implies that Alex Salmond intends to set himself up as a dictator in an independent Scotland, an outrageous, and possibly defamatory, statement to make about a democratic politician.

The SNP have long distanced themselves against the death penalty.

This type of petty mud slinging is common amongst Unionist politicians who have shown that they don't mind slandering other countries and bring the reputation of Scotland down along with their slanders.  Only a short while ago, Labour 'leader', Iain Gray insulted the country of Montenegro, causing an international incident.

Rennie apologised for the statement later saying,

I apologise for the offence that has been clearly caused by our cartoon on the First Minister's remarks in Qatar. Although I did not approve its publication I accept responsibility for it. It has been interpreted in ways that were not intended. It has now been withdrawn. I apologise.

Is he saying that as leader he doesn't have control over what the Libdums print on their official Facebook page and does he also have no editorial control over his personal page. 

An apology like this is insufficient and the only course open now to Mr Rennie, is to resign.

ALEX SALMOND KICKS THE METAPHORICAL SHITE OUT OF HOWARD ON QT

DAVID CAMERON GRANTED ASYLUM BY SCOTTISH GOVERNMENT

David Cameron, (that's him in the black shirt) has today been granted asylum by the Scottish Government.

There were fears that forces loyal to Muumaar Gaddafi, the LIBYAN LEADER, were going to bomb Downing Street and Chequers in retaliation for NATO air strikes in their own country.

Scottish First Minister, Alex Salmond, told reporters that while they did not agree with his politics, his father was Scottish and he would be welcomed in the new Scotland.

A LETTER FROM THE SCOTTISH REVIEW

I read Gordon Lawrie's Open letter to SR readers and Mr Salmond (SR, 16 February), (a fine read, Ed!), suggesting that we should forget independence and by implication become unionists. Mr Salmond is well able to look after himself and will no doubt reply if he sees fit.
     In so far as the letter is also addressed to myself as a reader I would seek to persuade that another perspective may be taken. For many like myself the problem with the unionist position is the marked absence of national self-esteem.
     It does not break unionist hearts that their position implies that Scotland's potentially unique, distinctive, and independent voice would never, never, be heard in the European Parliament or in the United Nations.
     Their opposition underlines the fact that unionist politicians have absolutely no desire to represent Scotland in the wider stage of world politics and demonstrates a singular lack of healthy ambition both for themselves and their country.
     They are content to paddle about in the parochialisms of devolved politics, are happy to forswear playing a personal and representative part in the international forums of a larger world and to remain oblivious to the fact that inter-nationalism implies the existence of nationalism.
     It is not that their vision for themselves and their country is too big; it is simply too small.

SALMOND WOULD RATHER LEAD ANOTHER MINORITY GOVERNMENT

Alex Salmond would prefer to lead another minority government rather than enter into a coalition deal if this May's Holyrood elections result in a hung parliament.

Speaking on Newsnight Scotland, the first minister said he would not rule out joining a coalition but that would not be his first choice.

He said he felt his minority government had "proved itself".

A minority Government to some extent has been good for Scotland, much better than a coalition.  If only, the fucking numpties in the the Labour party, could actually enter into the Government of Scotland, by contributing to the budget as do the Tories and the Libdums, instead of acting like a bunch of overexcited  schoolboys on their first date, the Governance of Scotland could be more of an adult affair.  The thought of that prick, Gray, being first minister is enough to make a good proportion of Scots,  move to England.

SCOTTISH GOVERNMENT'S RELEASE OF MEGRAHI VINDICATED

A Foreign Office minister sent Libyan officials detailed legal advice on how to use Abdelbaset al-Megrahi’s cancer diagnosis to ensure he was released from a Scottish prison on compassionate grounds, documents obtained by the Daily Telegraph show.  The Duke of York is also said to have played a behind-the-scenes role in encouraging the terrorist’s release.

The Scottish First Minister said the revelations confirm that while his administration acted according to its public pronouncements on the affair, Tony Blair's Government was behaving duplicitously.  “The cables ... show that the former UK Government were playing false on the issue, with a different public position from their private one,” said a statement released by Mr Salmond's office.


This release of WikiLeak material shows finally that the Scottish Government's release of Megrahi was done only on the grounds stated, i.e. that it was for humanitarian reasons only.  Those prick Senators in the US, should now apologise to the people of Scotland for casting a slur on it's people and it's Government.

SCOTLAND BILL IS A SMOKESCREEN!

Alex Salmond has attacked the Scotland Bill, unveiled today by the London Unionists and formulated by their QUISLING colleagues in Scotland.

He said the Scotland Bill’s proposals to give MSPs power to raise income tax in return for Holyrood giving up some of its block grant from Westminster as a “backward step”.

At a press conference at Bute House in Edinburgh, his official residence, he produced figures suggesting the total cuts in the block grant would be £8 billion more than the money raised in income tax if the powers had been in place over the past decade.

He also claimed that most of the extra income tax revenues generated by future economic booms would flow to the Treasury, not Scotland.

If they want Scotland to be responsible for raising and spending tax, why not let us go the whole hog and have total responsibility for all taxes and spending.  It's going to come sooner or later and the UNIONIST TRAITORS in THE LABOUR, LIBDEMS AND CONSERVATIVES branches in Scotland know it as well.

This hotchpotch of powers will not satisfy the people of Scotland!

SALMOND LEAVES SCOTTISH UNIONIST PRESS FOAMING AT THE MOUTH IN FRUSTRATION!

The First Minister of Scotland, neatly gave the Unionist 'quality' press in Scotland a red face yesterday which must have left their Editors foaming at the mouth, like the rabid currs they have become.
On Monday, they were bleating that the Alex Salmond had gone there to meet with some Basque political party that were supposed to have tenuous links to ETA.
However, First Minister Alex Salmond, currently in Bilbao seeking to strengthen Scotland's economic and energy links with the Basque Country, has announced a massive inward investment by Spanish energy company Iberdrola.
The Spanish power giant, who also owns ScottishPower, is to invest £3 billion by way of spend in Scottish businesses over the next two years which will create and maintain thousands of jobs in Scotland.

But, can we find any mention of this great news for Scotland, something really positive in this poor economic climate.  The 'Scotsman', not a fucking jot, at least online and the shiny new 'Herald' has it buried way down it's news stories about George Michael, the Pope and whether some Big Brother contestant, is a shirt-lifter.  Is this all we can expect from the 'quality' press in Scotland?  Stories that should be in a woman's magazine?

OBAMA ADMINISTRATION WERE COMPLICIT IN RELEASE OF MEGRAHI!

The Lockerbie scandal has just become even murkier. According to a report yesterday, “the US government secretly advised Scottish ministers that it would be “far preferable” to free the Lockerbie bomber than jail him in Libya.”
D.L.obtained a leaked document which reveals that Richard LeBaron, deputy head of the US embassy in London, had written to Alex Salmond, Scottish First Minister, ahead of the release of the Lockerbie bomber. The correspondence indicates that the Obama administration’s opposition to the “compassionate” release of the Lockerbie bomber may not have been as clear-cut as it has subsequently claimed. In the August 12, 2009 letter, the senior US official appeared to condone “a conditional release on compassionate grounds” of convicted Libyan intelligence agent Abdelbaset al-Megrahi, if Scottish officials were determined to proceed with the release of al-Megrahi against the wishes of Washington.

There had to be American involvement.  The most powerful nation in Earth are thirsty for Libyan oil.  They would be pleased as punch secretly when Scotland released him.  Megrahi is a patsy.  Let's go to the HAGUE and not be vague and have a proper enquiry where everything is put on the table.

SNP TO DROP INDEPENDENCE MEANTIME-WELL YOU CAN HAVE MY RESIGNATION!

Alex Salmond thinks full Scottish independence should be put on the back burner and more financial powers for Holyrood made the top priority, according to one of the First Minister’s confidantes.
In remarks likely to dismay SNP members, Ben Thomson said Mr Salmond had told him the focus should be on making the Scottish Parliament “fiscally responsible”.  Despite the SNP’s long-awaited Referendum Bill being unveiled shortly, Mr Thomson said the First Minister was “dropping the ideas of independence for a time”.   Mr Thomson, chairman of investment bank Noble Group and head of think tank Reform Scotland, said the comments were made in a meeting with Mr Salmond last week.

I don't think Alex Salmond is taking the SNP in the right direction.  He should have been making a case for INDEPENDENCE at the General Election.  The GE campaign was a disaster, as I have said before on this blog.  I am sure that myself and thousands of other SNP members will be aghast at these comments and will be considering our membership,  if the Party are not taking us towards INDEPENDENCE. For FUCK'S SAKE ALEX, BE BOLD!  Don't fanny about with halfway houses!

ALEX SALMOND TO BE PRIME MINISTER IN NEW ALLIANCE!

In a shock move today, First Minister of Scotland, ALEX SALMOND, is to become PRIME MINISTER in a new left of centre alliance of the SNP/Plaid/Labour/LibDems/DUP/Greens/Sein Fein and the SDLP.

Following the resignation yesterday, of the now EX-PRIME MINISTER, GORDON BROWN, it is felt that Mr Salmond or Lord Salmond of Peterhead as he will now be known, is the only one with the necessary experience of running a country to fulfill the job adequately.

Lord Salmond will be taking some of his current SCOTTISH GOVERNMENT colleagues with him to Downing Street.  JOHN SWINNEY will be the new CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER,  KENNY MacASKILL will be the new HOME SECRETARY and NICOLA STURGEON will become the new MINISTER OF DEFENCE.  Amongst some of the other posts announced are PETER ROBINSON of the DUP who will become the MINISTER FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES.

Former Scottish Secretary, JIM MURPHY is to be offered the post of Cultural Attache to the Embassy in OUTER MONGOLIA.

SALMOND TARGETS ENGLAND WITH ASH IN REVENGE FOR LEADERS' DEBATE!

After consultation today in Edinburgh, FIRST MINISTER, ALEX SALMOND, has ordered all WINDFARMS in Scotland to blow the VOLCANIC ASH which currently sits over Scotland TOWARDS ENGLAND!

"It's essential that we get our Airports and infrastructures back on line as quickly as possible and anyway blowing the ash towards ENGLAND will teach the bastards for not letting me take part in the LEADERS' DEBATE last night to give the SCOTTISH VIEWPOINT" he told D.L. this morning.
IAIN GRAYMAN, the Scottish labour leader has protested stating, "this is typical of the Scottish Government picking fights with my GAFFER.  The SAVIOUR OF THE WORLD won't now be able to fly home to support Labour candidates the length and breadth of Scotland in their campaigns, (to their GREAT RELIEF).

ALEX SALMOND AND SCOTTISH MINISTERS TO BE QUESTIONED BY WESTMINSTER COMMITTEE

The First Minister is to be quizzed by Westminster MPs next month, it was announced today.


The case of the Lockerbie bomber will loom large when Alex Salmond appears before the Commons Scottish Affairs Committee.  Also giving evidence with Mr Salmond on January 10 will be Sir John Elvidge, the Scottish Government's permanent secretary and most senior civil servant.  Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill, who turned down an application for Abdelbaset ali Mohmed al Megrahi to be transferred to a Libyan prison but granted an application for compassionate early release on health grounds, will be questioned by the committee after Mr Salmond.

I don't see  why Scottish Ministers from a sovereign Parliament should be answering questions on devolved subjects before a Westminster Committee, particularly when the Chairman is Mohamed Sarwar, a man who has had several dubious allegations made about him.


When then are Gordon Brown and Alistair Darling coming before a Holyrood committee or indeed the whole Parliament to answer for their mishandling of the Scottish Economy?
