In his first clear admission of some responsibility for the financial crisis, the former prime minister claimed he had not understood how “entangled” the world’s financial institutions had become.

They come as the Treasury prepares to receive a review into how Britain’s banks should operate in the future. The Independent Commission on Banking (ICB), led by Sir John Vickers, is expected to recommend significant reforms to make it less likely that banks take unnecessary risks and to encourage greater competition

The sad Twat said: “We set up the FSA believing the problem would come from the failure of an individual institution. That was the big mistake. We didn’t understand just how entangled things were.”

He added “I have to accept my responsibility.” 

At last!  Ed Miliband must be delighted now that he can move on.  The trouble is that Labour should not be back in power until he is a very old man.  I actually think the coalition, (short of my ideal of Scottish independence), is doing not too badly from the point of view that the LibDums are taking the edge off the Tories most radical plans and what is left is certainly less big business and more people orientated.  Which of course, is what it should be, unless they are, as we all suspect,  being played by big business and the banks, the banks being, you know who, those people I get into a row for mentioning too often, not that, that, will stop me.

What Elmer GrayFudd will make of his Uncle Gordon being the useless fucker we all knew he was, is anyone's guess!

COALITION PARTIES IN TATTERS AS CANDIDATES RESIGN LEFT, RIGHT AND CENTRE!

A third Conservative Scottish election candidate has stood down, as the party officially launched its campaign for Holyrood.  David Meikle had demanded an investigation into the ranking of candidates for the party's Glasgow's list, alleging electoral malpractice.

Meanwhile, a top Liberal Democrat candidate for the Scottish elections has quit the party.  Hugh O'Donnell was the leading candidate in the party's Central Scotland list.  Mr O'Donnell said was unhappy with the direction of the party in Scotland and the UK Tory/Lib Dem coalition.

New polls have shown that the SNP is within touching distance of the 40% it need to be the largest party in Scotland and be elected again under the slogan, 'Alex Salmond for First Minister'

The UNIONIT parties have been shown to have not a clue about what the requirements of the Scottish people are as they squabble amongst themselves to please their Illuminati masters at Westminster.  They even get the Royals to stick on a wedding the week before the Scottish Elections to boost their hopes.

WHY SHOULD PEOPLE DO COMPUSLORY WORK?

I'm almost ashamed at writing this.  But here goes:

According to the Maily Dale,

• Work-shy benefit claimants will be forced to do compulsory work in exchange for welfare under radical rules imposed in Parliament today.

•  The unemployed could be instructed to do ‘Mandatory Work Activity’ under a controversial new programme outlined by Work and Pensions Minister Chris Grayling.

• It is thought that they will have to pick up litter, mend fences or help repaint care homes.

• Jobseekers would have to spend up to 30 hours a week, for a month, on their work placement and would still have to look for work in between.

When I say almost ashamed it's for this reason.  Like everyone else, I would hope my taxes are not being squandered paying for some bastard to sit on their arse watching the TV.  That's the first reaction.

But then you think.  Hold on a minute.  They are the ones, according to certain people who claim to know about these things, that are causing the unemployment in the first place, by cutting too deep.  So, if they get away with this, where does it stop?  Do all the unemployed getting, £65 per week have to work a 30 hour week?  I thought we had a minimum wage?  What happens to all the peoples' jobs, who currently do the painting, mending fences and picking up litter?  Do they become unemployed and then have to do the same job for a third of the money?  Do we just become slaves?

Fine you say.  I'm not a painter.  Is a case of, first they come for the jobs of the painters, then it's the shop assistants, factory workers, waiters, van drivers?  Where the fuck does it stop?  Bosses, will take all the cheap labour you can give them... I know, I was one and run a substantial business.

Do you know where it will stop?  With the jobs of the politicians, their families and the elite.  So remember that when some van driver tells you, what a good job the coalition are doing, getting the unemployed back to work and off benefits!

ENERGY COMPANIES TO BE INVESTIGATED BY TOOTHLESS OFGEM

Greedy energy giants are to be investigated after revelations of a 38 per cent rise in profit margins on the back of soaring bills.

Industry regulator Ofgem is to investigate Britain’s ‘big six’ energy companies – many foreign-owned – amid allegations of profiteering on a massive scale.

The average profit margin per customer has leapt from £65 to £90 since September, taking it to the highest level in five years.

OOOOAGH!  A lot of fucking difference that will make.  Pure window dressing by a Government which has proffered it's arse to big business, just like the last lot did.

ARE STATE OWNED BANKS GOING TO BE ALLOWED TO SCREW THEIR CUSTOMERS?

First-time buyers face a huge rise in the cost of their mortgages at Britain’s biggest lender.

Halifax has revealed plans to raise its loan rates from January for all new borrowers.

In a further blow, the lender – part of Lloyds, which is 41 per cent owned by the taxpayer – is also scrapping a promise that its standard variable rate deal will never be more than three percentage points above the Bank of England’s base rate.

This clears the way for the bank, which would have collapsed without a taxpayer bailout, to charge as much as it likes for its mortgage deals.

Yesterday, experts warned that other lenders are likely to follow the controversial move, which comes as millions face acute financial pressure.

Sorry?  I thought we owned these fucking banks?  Why then are the coalition allowing them to screw their customers with rates way above what they need to make a profit?  Why are credit cards at 29% and above in some cases?  Why can't we have a state owned bank which only deals in mortgages and small companies finance?  If these banking bastards, want to get back to their risky investments, which the Tories will believe me allow, why should any more tax payers' money be involved?

IS AFGHANISTAN'S FRAUDULENT ELECTION ANY WORSE THAN LABOUR'S POSTAL BALLOT FRAUD HERE?

Afghan election officials plan to throw out about one million ballots from last month's parliamentary election – eliminating about 23 per cent of the votes due to fraud, according to a Western official.

A fraud-marred presidential election last year nearly derailed international support for Hamid Karzai, the president, turning this year's poll into a test of whether the government is committed to reforms seen as key for justifying Nato funding and troops.

One of the largest criticisms of the election commission last year was that it abandoned its own fraud-detection measures part way through the process, dumping obviously fraudulent ballots into the tally to help Mr Karzai avoid a run-off with his top challenger. It was only after drawn-out investigations that more than a million ballots were thrown out – the majority of them for Mr Karzai.

I was going to comment that if Karzai cannot at this stage of the game run a 'clean' election, then it is time to get out of Afghanistan.  But how much worse is it in Afghanistan, than in Britain and Scotland in particular, a country which is supposed to be the mother of all democracies.  From Fife to Glasgow to London, Labour IMO have fraudulently counted postal ballots to the point, that if the Returning Officers did not notice the discrepancies they had to be in the employ of Labour.

We are in severe danger in this country of losing any degree of democracy we have left.  Having gone through 13 battering years of a  Marxist, left-wing, pseudo liberal, dominated attack on our civil rights and our freedom of speech, the Coalition's first step after tackling Labour's debt mountain is to tackle the return of civil liberties, or at least let us think they have been restored.

CLIMATE CHANGE TAXES ARE COMING, BUT DOES IT MATTER? THE OIL IS RUNNING OUT!

Thousands of British businesses will be liable for significant fines and charges under a new government “green tax” scheme.   Those that do participate in the Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) initiative by declaring their energy use will face charges for every ton of greenhouse gas they produce.  Tim Yeo, says more radical steps are needed to tackle climate change. These payments are expected to average £38,000 a year for medium-sized firms, and could reach £100,000 for larger organisations.

Do they honestly, think that China, India or any other large country in the non-European world is going to bother with climate change.  Don't be fucking stupid.  I can see the point that we've, or more correctly the US have made all the pollution, well some of it, already. But, two wrongs don't make a right.  So why handicap your companies by another tax.  Simple, the politicians don't have enough money yet and once more, we, as they laughingly call us the electorate, are conned one more time.   It makes fuck all difference, because we'll run out of oil before the climate has had the chance to change.  here.  That's what the politicians should be addressing, if they can take their hands out of other peoples' pockets long enough.  Want a bet that some Government Minister is taken on at credit giant, EXPERIAN in two or three years, when Cameron and the coalition have no further use for them!

55% VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE IS UNDEMOCRATIC!

Having spent the last three days in hospital with an irregular heart beat and having not read any other blogs, I am not sure if this subject has been done to death but I have a lot of disquiet over the proposed 55% rule for a vote of no confidence.

If you look at the numbers and taking into account that SEIN FEIN don't take up their five seats in the commons even if everybody else including the Libthingies voted against the Tories the most votes they could muster would be 338.  If you take 55% of the 650 seats in the commons that is 358.  So therefore to topple a Tory Government, 20 of their own number would have to vote in the vote of no confidence against their own administration to change it and trigger another election.

Now I've heard of turkeys voting for Christmas, but that is ridiculous!  Therefore we are stuck with a Tory government whether we like it or not,  for the next five years.  Now as it turns out, although I want SCOTTISH INDEPENDENCE, I would rather see a TORY LED COALITION IN WESTMINSTER than those shower of TALENTLESS FUCKWITS, LABOUR  and I might just have a tenner or two at the bookies on the Government being in power for 5 years.
