Minimum alcohol pricing, there's a quandry.

We have to face up to the  fact that we in the UK and more particularly in Scotland, have a big problem with alcohol.  When you go to Spain or France the only drunks you see are Brit tourists or occasionally a North European.  Some of the scenes in our city centres on a Saturday night are a disgrace.  Some people will say that is because drink is so dear that people get hammered in the house before they go out.  So should we make drink cheaper?  Would that bring in a more responsible attitude to drinking?  Personally I doubt it. But, then I suppose you could say that it is much cheaper in Spain where I drink a reasonable wine for £0.65 a litre and Spaniards don't get pissed, even at the football.

Now I speak as one who has drunk like a fish for most of his life, so I think I might have some input here.  I do in principle support minimum pricing but I do believe that £0.50 a unit is too dear.  How, if it gets through the courts, can we charge £0.50 when in England, they are looking to bring in a price of £0.40.  Ridiculous.  And why should we hand the supermarkets a £100 million bonus?  Those bastards have ravaged our town centres, turning them into 'tesco extras', charity shops and bookies.  I'd clobber any multinational in an out of town centre till they felt their orange pips squeeze.  

Is it possible to take this money off them and use it to pay for alcohol education for our young?  I don't know.  But, I will tell you one thing.  This is what a responsible Government means to the people of Scotland.  The SNP and it could be rightly or wrongly in your estimation had this policy as part of their manifesto despite the fact that Labour, the Tories and the Libdums were against it in the last parliament and they know it will lose them votes, but they have the interests of Scotland's people at heart.  Suddenly of course, CamaClegg have decided they are in favour so the Libdums and the Tories have changed their tune.  So in other words, they are not interested in the health of the people of Scotland, just in their narrow Unionist policies.  Plus ca change as my French brothers say!

THE CRASS LEVEL OF THE LIBDEMS IN SCOTLAND

This is a poster which appeared on the Scottish Libdum's Facebook page.  The First Minister of Scotland is currently in Qatar to drum up business for Scotland.  He mentioned in a speech that there are many similarities between Scotland and Qatar, particularly in oil, gas, education and low-carbon economies.

  The image, showing a mock up of what appears to be a 'darkened' or unshaven First Minister in Arab head-dress next to a camel, could be construed as racist.  The accompanying text makes three outright lies about the First Minister in an attempt to scare voters into voting against Scottish independence.

The image clearly alleges that the First Minister is homophobic.  However Alex Salmond has made clear his support for lesbian and gay rights and has spoken in favour of the introduction of gay and lesbian marriage on a par with heterosexual marriage.

The image also implies that Alex Salmond intends to set himself up as a dictator in an independent Scotland, an outrageous, and possibly defamatory, statement to make about a democratic politician.

The SNP have long distanced themselves against the death penalty.

This type of petty mud slinging is common amongst Unionist politicians who have shown that they don't mind slandering other countries and bring the reputation of Scotland down along with their slanders.  Only a short while ago, Labour 'leader', Iain Gray insulted the country of Montenegro, causing an international incident.

Rennie apologised for the statement later saying,

I apologise for the offence that has been clearly caused by our cartoon on the First Minister's remarks in Qatar. Although I did not approve its publication I accept responsibility for it. It has been interpreted in ways that were not intended. It has now been withdrawn. I apologise.

Is he saying that as leader he doesn't have control over what the Libdums print on their official Facebook page and does he also have no editorial control over his personal page. 

An apology like this is insufficient and the only course open now to Mr Rennie, is to resign.

BROWN THE ONE-EYED HALFWIT, FINALLY ADMITS RESPONSIBILITY FOR FINANCIAL CRISIS!

 

In his first clear admission of some responsibility for the financial crisis, the former prime minister claimed he had not understood how “entangled” the world’s financial institutions had become.

They come as the Treasury prepares to receive a review into how Britain’s banks should operate in the future. The Independent Commission on Banking (ICB), led by Sir John Vickers, is expected to recommend significant reforms to make it less likely that banks take unnecessary risks and to encourage greater competition

The sad Twat said: “We set up the FSA believing the problem would come from the failure of an individual institution. That was the big mistake. We didn’t understand just how entangled things were.”

He added “I have to accept my responsibility.” 

At last!  Ed Miliband must be delighted now that he can move on.  The trouble is that Labour should not be back in power until he is a very old man.  I actually think the coalition, (short of my ideal of Scottish independence), is doing not too badly from the point of view that the LibDums are taking the edge off the Tories most radical plans and what is left is certainly less big business and more people orientated.  Which of course, is what it should be, unless they are, as we all suspect,  being played by big business and the banks, the banks being, you know who, those people I get into a row for mentioning too often, not that, that, will stop me.

What Elmer GrayFudd will make of his Uncle Gordon being the useless fucker we all knew he was, is anyone's guess!

PEOPLE OF SCOTLAND-IT'S UP TO YOU!

 

The SNP founder Robert Cunningham Graeme, once said: "The problem for Scotland is not the English, who are a great and noble people. The problem for Scotland is those Scots who are born without imagination."

That is truer today than ever before.

Inside 8 weeks, we will have had the Scottish Government elections.  On One side we have the Scottish branches of the main British Unionist parties with their huge pots of money which they will fling at Scotland, to continue with their subjugation of the people of Scotland on the other the SNP who are the only party who have the interests of Scotland at their heart.

Over the last four years we have seen a MINORITY SNP Government battle against the odds to get the policies which benefit the people of Scotland across in areas like Health, Transport, Justice and Local Government.  A Government of talent.  How unlike the nodding numpties in the Labour party and the parochial busybodies in the Tory and Libdum parties who have blocked policies like Alcohol Pricing which would have done so much to help Scotland's health problems, until of course their colleagues down South latched onto the same policy and now for the coalition it's become the 'way forward'!

Vote as you will, those of you who have the vote on May the fifth, but please remember to vote on the issues and for the party that has the heart and welfare of the people of Scotland at their heart.

ARE THE MAINSTREAM POLITICIANS AFRAID OF AV IN CASE IT CHANGES THEIR COSY EXISTENCE?

William Hague has attacked Liberal Democrat plans to introduce Alternative Vote system by declaring 'A vote for AV will be a vote for the BNP'.  (I hope so, Ed).

In a rallying cry to the Tory rank-and-file, the Foreign secretary called the AV system 'unfair' and 'expensive'.

He is seeking to mobilise his party in a bid to save the current first-past-the-post voting system that could be abolished in the upcoming electoral reform referendum.

Now I don't hold any truck with the BNP and AV as a voting system is about as much use as a fart in a spacesuit, however what it does show is that the Conservatives and Labour are afraid of a Westminster where a range of views are heard, instead of MPs being acquiescent to the wishes of their party whips and trooping into their parties lobby.

I believe that the Scottish Parliament was improved by the likes of Tommy Sheridan's crew and it is my fervent hope that George Galloway gets elected this time.  We need a range of different views at Westminster.  MPs who are not beholden to their party for promotion or Government jobs and can actually help their constituents.  I also think without the Libdums, we would have seen much more extremist policies from the Tories and although I wouldn't have disagreed with all of them after 13 tears of shite from Labour.  I see the bastards are kicking up again about IPSO, if they don't like it they can resign.  All this pish about their expenses claims not being honoured making them unable to do their jobs properly looking after their constituents, is the biggest load of crap, I have ever heard.

It's time we rumbled up the whole Palace of Westminster, starting with the Lords and the political placemen who sit in 'that place' and collect over £1000 per week in expenses, some of which have criminal convictions like Lord Watson, who should have had his enoblement taken off him.

Why should we continue to pay £billions of OUR MONEY, to keep this shambles of an Establishment going.  The time for change is here, now.
