MY TWOPENCE WORTH ON MINIMUM ALCOHOL PRICING

BEER SHAMPOO HITS £10 A TUBE!
Minimum alcohol pricing, there's a quandry.

We have to face up to the  fact that we in the UK and more particularly in Scotland, have a big problem with alcohol.  When you go to Spain or France the only drunks you see are Brit tourists or occasionally a North European.  Some of the scenes in our city centres on a Saturday night are a disgrace.  Some people will say that is because drink is so dear that people get hammered in the house before they go out.  So should we make drink cheaper?  Would that bring in a more responsible attitude to drinking?  Personally I doubt it. But, then I suppose you could say that it is much cheaper in Spain where I drink a reasonable wine for £0.65 a litre and Spaniards don't get pissed, even at the football.

Now I speak as one who has drunk like a fish for most of his life, so I think I might have some input here.  I do in principle support minimum pricing but I do believe that £0.50 a unit is too dear.  How, if it gets through the courts, can we charge £0.50 when in England, they are looking to bring in a price of £0.40.  Ridiculous.  And why should we hand the supermarkets a £100 million bonus?  Those bastards have ravaged our town centres, turning them into 'tesco extras', charity shops and bookies.  I'd clobber any multinational in an out of town centre till they felt their orange pips squeeze.

Is it possible to take this money off them and use it to pay for alcohol education for our young?  I don't know.  But, I will tell you one thing.  This is what a responsible Government means to the people of Scotland.  The SNP and it could be rightly or wrongly in your estimation had this policy as part of their manifesto despite the fact that Labour, the Tories and the Libdums were against it in the last parliament and they know it will lose them votes, but they have the interests of Scotland's people at heart.  Suddenly of course, CamaClegg have decided they are in favour so the Libdums and the Tories have changed their tune.  So in other words, they are not interested in the health of the people of Scotland, just in their narrow Unionist policies.  Plus ca change as my French brothers say!

HOW CAN YOU HAVE A GOVERNMENT WITHOUT ELECTED POLITICIANS?

Mario Monti, Italy's new prime minister, appointed a Government without a single politician on Wednesday.

How is it possible to have a Government made up of Technocrats without a single politician?  Surely that is at the hub of all democracies, that at least we can be seen to pick a Government.  Most people who read this shite would be of the opinion, that although we pick them, they don't follow our wishes or indeed their manifestos, well apart from the SNP, that is.

But the difference is on the face value of it, at least we can change them if we feel they're no longer up to the job.  Italy has technocrats who have been imposed on the country by the German and French Governments to ensure that the Euro contagion does not spread any further, at least not as far as Germany and France.  What right do the Merkozy twins have in imposing their people in a neighbouring countries Government?  be in no doubt this is what has happened.  If the Italian and Greek Technocrats had not been former bankers and deemed suitable by this pair, they would not now be in power.

Berlusconi had his bad points but he also had some good.  But at least, he was elected by the people of Italy and he should only have been removed by those people.  Can you imagine if this happened in Britain or even worse in a pro-European Scotland?  What if the Queen made Mervyn King a Lord and he became Prime Minister?  There would quite rightly be an uproar.  That's more or less what's happened in Italy!  Speaking of Mervyn King, is it not about time someone sached the fucker?  He never seems to get his predictions right.  He would be better off tossing a coin!

CAMERON IS MORE UNDEMOCRATIC TO SCOTLAND THAN MERKOZY IS TO GREECE!

THE NEW Tory leader in Scotland says she is in favour of plans for Westminster to seize control of the timing of the independence referendum.

Asked yesterday if Prime Minister David Cameron should press ahead with legislation to hold the referendum rather than wait for the SNP government to do so, she replied: “If it was required.”
The First Minister has said he intends to wait until the latter half of the current Scottish Parliament before asking Scots whether they want to leave the UK. But, in one of her first announcements as the Scottish leader, Davidson yesterday acknowledged that discussions were ongoing about forcing the referendum to be held earlier.

So there we have it then.  Despite, the SNP gaining a majority of seats in the Scottish Parliament, a victory that had been engineered by the Unionists not to be able to happen, a small minority political party in Scotland with practically no support, funded and managed from London, is going to tell the Scottish Government when they must bring forward plans for an independence referendum.

Despite the fact that it stated clearly in the SNP manifesto that they would bring forward a vote in the latter part of their Government, once the people of Scotland had a chance to assess how they had governed.  The people of Scotland voted in the SNP, based on that manifesto.  How different, is that from the Merkozy two's insistence that the Greek PM must resign before any financial help would be given?

It seems all around us, the bastions of international Governance are tightening their grasp on the democracies of the smaller countries and that is why I believe that when we do become independent, as we will, that we stay out of the EU, along the principles of Norway, the only other oil producer in Europe.  They need us more than we need them.  No point in jumping out of the pan into the fire!

JOHN SWINNEY'S SPEECH.

John Swinney paints a picture of prosperity with Scottish independence

An independent Scotland would be the sixth wealthiest country in the world, Finance Secretary John Swinney has claimed.
PA-11909462_John_Swinney_Inverness
John Swinney addressing the conference in Inverness.

In his closing speech to the SNP conference in Inverness on Sunday, the Perthshire North MSP insisted Scotland was ''subsidising the rest of the UK.''
He also launched an attack on successive Westminster Governments, saying the previous Labour administration had presided over ''chaos and crisis'' while the current coalition is using ''financial blackmail'' over public sector pensions.
He added: ''Independence will give the Scottish Parliament the normal powers enjoyed in nations across the world to deliver jobs and growth — responsibility for our own affairs, rather than the dead hand of Westminster control.
''And, of course, the forces of negativity will tell us that Scotland can't stand on her own two feet. Well, let me give them a taste of what we are going to say about all this.
''As the global economy recovers from recession, all countries run a deficit, but the UK deficit is higher than that in Scotland.
''In four out of the last five years Scotland has run a budget surplus. The UK was in deficit in each of these years.
''Scotland is subsidising the rest of the UK. Our country pays her way.''
He accused the UK of ''squandering'' North Sea oil revenues and said it would not have happened under independence.
''The figures show that, with a geographical share of our offshore resources, Scotland would be the sixth wealthiest country in the world, 10 places ahead of the UK at 16th,'' he said.
''This is the time to put the wealth of Scotland to work for the people of Scotland.''
Mr Swinney repeated calls for a ''Plan MacB'' — the SNP's approach to the economy.
And, reflecting the four-day conference's large focus on independence, his final remarks were devoted to the coming referendum.
''This is it my friends,'' he said. ''This is our moment. This is our chance to fulfil the promise we made to our people, the promise that every person who chooses to live in this country should have the chance to shape the future of the country.
''Our task is now quite simple. We must go out and persuade and inspire the people of our country that independence will be right for them.
''That is our task. Today let us commit to fulfil our promise to the people of Scotland.''

IS NOW THE TIME FOR INDEPENDENCE?

Should the new SNP Government now go for full independence?

You won't be surprised to hear me say yes.  Like it or not, Scots have always considered that Scotland is a separate nation from England.  In many ways like the opinion, that many Englishmen have, that England is a separate country from Scotland and shouldn't be a part of the EU.  I think the Scots are endured by many English.  They are fed shite about how Scotland is a drain on the English purse, when anyone with a modicum of intelligence can look at the GERS reports online and see that Scotland has been in surplus for many years.  Indeed, oil, a Scottish asset has floated the British Economy since the early 70s, a fact that is rarely mentioned.  Then we hear the crap about how the English bailed out the Scottish Banks, RBS and HBOS.  Well, these have been British companies, albeit with their HQs in Scotland, since 1707 and in any case the last time I looked, Halifax was not in Scotland.

Is there an economic case for independence?  Again I would say yes.  There is still some oil left in Scottish waters, so please, don't lets squander what's left.  We have 40% of all renewable potential in Europe with wave power going to be an important feature.  We should have control of these assets in Scotland, to be used for the good of the Scottish people, like they do in Norway.  Control of the seabed round Scotland should be our first priority.  At the moment that right belongs to the British Monarchy.  Osborne gave the Queen massive dividends from that source in his budget, (which was sneaked in so no-one noticed it), and I'm sure they don't need anymore money than they currently  have.

Politically, as the people of Scotland realise that an SNP Government is there to govern for Scotland and doesn't have one eye on their masters in London, they will realise the benefits of an independent nation.  The people of Scotland have the right to self determination in just the same way as the new Arab states do, so in my opinion now is the time to forge ahead to  independence.

DON'T LISTEN TO OPINION POLLS!

Let me make my election pledge:  If Labour win tomorrow in Scotland, I am definitely going to emigrate, probably to Spain.  Why not?  There's heat, decent grub, diesel at £1.13 per litre.  If I could just get rid of these Dago bastards, it would be paradise.

Now I know the opinion polls are saying that Labour are going to get scutched tomorrow, but I'm too long in the tooth to believe that, so please, please, please, both votes SNP.  Elect a Government who have the interests of Scotland at heart, not what their London masters tell them.  Elect a Government that is close to the people and can be reined in when required.  Fuck me, even the Scotsman has come out in favour of the SNP, after trying to do them down for 13 years.  Wonders will never cease.  Next thing, Iain Gray will wake up one morning and find he's not a FUCKWIT!  Naw, that'll NEVER HAPPEN!

DON'T LET ME EMIGRATE! BOTH VOTES SNP!

EL PRESIDENTE SALMONDO WILL WIPE THE SMILE OF YOUR BULLINGDON TOFF'S FACE, CAMERON!

TWO PEAS IN A POD

I can see you smiling, "fuck off DL", I hear you say, " Gray and Cameron, two peas in a pod"!

Yes, the North British Leader of a political party and the South Britain Leader of a very similar party with more or less the same policy, FUCK SCOTLAND!  In order to do this, they are trying to slag the only Scottish party in the election, the SNP and  particularly in Gray's case, trying to take away the RIGHT OF THE SCOTTISH PEOPLE to have a vote for their own future.  Yes, the Scottish People are too fucking stupid to vote for themselves and he may be right.  After 60 years of being kicked in the teeth by Labour, the  people of Scotland seem to vote for them again and again.  Except in the election which is becoming increasingly important to the people of Scotland, for HOLYROOD.  So the two Unionist puppet-masters think they'll turn their attention to the leader of the SNP, Alex Salmond as they can't beat them in a policy trade off.
The BULLINGDON TOFF  mocked the Scottish First Minister calling him "El Presidente Salmondo" and suggested Mr Salmond was conducting a presidential style election.
He told the Scottish Mail on Sunday: "This is not a presidential system. Last time I looked it was a parliamentary system and El Presidente Salmondo needs to think again."
Let's hope that by putting the people of Scotland first, 'El Presidente' wipes the smiles off these arrogant fuckers' faces!

"This is an excellent poll, and confirms that support is continuing to build for the SNP's record, team and vision for Scotland. More and more people are moving to the SNP - many for the first time - because they
want to re-elect the Scottish Government and Alex Salmond for First Minister.
"The stronger the SNP vote, the more progress can be achieved for Scotland
"This election is about Scotland, and we are working hard for jobs, opportunity and fairness. We are taking absolutely nothing for granted, and have lifted our campaign to a new level of activity this weekend, as
our candidates and supporters communicate the SNP's positive message to people the length and breadth of Scotland."

SENSATIONAL POLL FROM THE FIRST WEEK OF ELECTION!

LABOUR LEAD EVAPORATES AS PEOPLE FOCUS ON SCOTLAND’S ELECTION

ALL MOMENTUM WITH SNP – 15-POINT LABOUR LEAD WIPED OUT IN A MONTH

The Scottish National Party have welcomed the first poll of the Scottish Parliament election campaign, which shows that in the space of a month the SNP have wiped out a 15-point Labour lead – with both parties now at level pegging.

SNP Depute Leader and Deputy First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said:

“This is a sensational poll, showing that Labour’s lead evaporates as people focus on Scotland’s election.

“All the momentum is with the SNP – in the space of a month, we have wiped out a 15-point Labour lead. There are over five weeks still to go – and already our ratings are 4 points up compared to our election-winning performance in 2007.

“It is now level pegging in the polls. Labour have spent the last month looking over their shoulders and copying all of the SNP’s policies – but people can tell the real thing from the counterfeit.

“We are confident that we can win people’s trust, and that voters will endorse the positive record of the SNP in Government and our vision of a better Scotland – with 1,000 more police on our streets, a continued council tax freeze, a record 25,000 apprenticeship places for young Scots, and protection for health spending.”

COALITION PARTIES IN TATTERS AS CANDIDATES RESIGN LEFT, RIGHT AND CENTRE!

A third Conservative Scottish election candidate has stood down, as the party officially launched its campaign for Holyrood.  David Meikle had demanded an investigation into the ranking of candidates for the party's Glasgow's list, alleging electoral malpractice.

Meanwhile, a top Liberal Democrat candidate for the Scottish elections has quit the party.  Hugh O'Donnell was the leading candidate in the party's Central Scotland list.  Mr O'Donnell said was unhappy with the direction of the party in Scotland and the UK Tory/Lib Dem coalition.

New polls have shown that the SNP is within touching distance of the 40% it need to be the largest party in Scotland and be elected again under the slogan, 'Alex Salmond for First Minister'

The UNIONIT parties have been shown to have not a clue about what the requirements of the Scottish people are as they squabble amongst themselves to please their Illuminati masters at Westminster.  They even get the Royals to stick on a wedding the week before the Scottish Elections to boost their hopes.
 Worse than pathetic!

PEOPLE OF SCOTLAND-IT'S UP TO YOU!

The SNP founder Robert Cunningham Graeme, once said: "The problem for Scotland is not the English, who are a great and noble people. The problem for Scotland is those Scots who are born without imagination."

That is truer today than ever before.
Inside 8 weeks, we will have had the Scottish Government elections.  On One side we have the Scottish branches of the main British Unionist parties with their huge pots of money which they will fling at Scotland, to continue with their subjugation of the people of Scotland on the other the SNP who are the only party who have the interests of Scotland at their heart.

Over the last four years we have seen a MINORITY SNP Government battle against the odds to get the policies which benefit the people of Scotland across in areas like Health, Transport, Justice and Local Government.  A Government of talent.  How unlike the nodding numpties in the Labour party and the parochial busybodies in the Tory and Libdum parties who have blocked policies like Alcohol Pricing which would have done so much to help Scotland's health problems, until of course their colleagues down South latched onto the same policy and now for the coalition it's become the 'way forward'!

Vote as you will, those of you who have the vote on May the fifth, but please remember to vote on the issues and for the party that has the heart and welfare of the people of Scotland at their heart.

SNP SURGE INTO LEAD FOR HOLYROOD AFTER NEW MORI POLL

Alex Salmond and the SNP have staged a sensational comeback in the race for Holyrood, moving into the lead over Labour with only ten weeks to go until election day, according to a poll for The Times.
The Ipsos MORI survey of more than 1,000 voters reveals a big resurgence by the Nationalists since the end of last year, putting them ahead, in terms of those certain to vote, in the first-past-the-post and regional list sections of the poll for the first time in a year.
The result of the poll throws wide open the outcome of the Scottish election and brings to a halt a period when Labour appeared to be heading for victory. It will trigger deep alarm within Labour and puts pressure on Iain Gray, its leader in Scotland, with voters preferring Mr Salmond to Mr Gray as the next First Minister.
If the findings were repeated on May 5, the SNP would again be the largest party with 51 seats, four more than now, according to an analysis by Professor John Curtice of Strathclyde University. Labour would have 48 MSPs (up 2).The Tories would have 14 MSPs (down 3) and the Lib Dems 12 (down 4). The Greens would have 4 MSPs, double their present standing.
It would mean that Mr Salmond could opt again for his preferred option of minority government, or come to an understanding, short of a formal coalition, with the Conservatives.
An SNP-Tory pact would give him a one-seat overall majority on key votes, provided that the new Presiding Officer came from one of the other parties.
If Mr Salmond opted for a “rainbow” pact with the Lib Dems and Greens, he could look forward to another four years in power supported, again on key votes, by 67 MSPs, a majority of 5.
The poll, undertaken after renewed controversy over the release of the Lockerbie bomber and after the SNP Budget passed last week with SNP, Tory and Lib Dem MSPs joining forces, is a huge boost for the Nationalists. It shows that on the constituency or first-past-the-post section of the election, the SNP would have 37 per cent support, up 6 points on a similar Ipsos MORI poll last November, when the party was 10 points behind Labour.
Labour would have 36 per cent, down 5 points, while the Tories and the Lib Dems are flatlining at 13 per cent and 10 per cent respectively.
In the regional list, the SNP are on 35 per cent (up 3), Labour is on 33 per cent (down 3), the Tories are on 13 per cent (up 1), and the Lib Dems on 10 per cent (up 1). The Greens are on 6 per cent.
Recent polls have indicated that Labour’s strong performance in Scotland in the general election was being carried over to the Holyrood poll. But with voters’ attention now focused on the Holyrood election, the momentum appears to be with the SNP.
The party’s claim that in Mr Salmond and his Cabinet colleagues it has a better team of “big hitters” compared with Labour, seems to be resonating with voters — 51 per cent are satisfied with Mr Salmond’s performance, compared with 35 per cent dissatisfied.
Only 33 per cent are satisfied with Mr Gray (down six points on last November) and 34 per cent dissatisfied. Just as worrying for Labour is that 33 per cent of respondents have no opinion on Mr Gray’s performance as leader, indicating that for many Scots he remains an unknown quantity as an alternative First Minister.
If Labour fails to regain power in Scotland it would be a shattering blow for Mr Gray and a serious reverse for Ed Miliband in his first big test since he succeeded Gordon Brown.
The only comfort for the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats in Scotland is that their support has not slipped farther and now appears to have reached a plateau. But both parties would have fewer MSPs.

DEEP DIVISIONS IN SCOTTISH LABOUR ABOUT GRAY'S LEADERSHIP.

DEEP DIVISIONS & RANK HYPOCRISY EXPOSED IN WAKE OF ‘IMMATURE’ BUDGET VOTE

NO CREDIBLE POLICIES AS IT IS REVEALED LABOUR’S DRAFT MANIFESTO UNCOSTED

An article in today’s Times newspaper and an online article by the New Statesman reveal ‘startling’ splits and problems within the Scottish Labour party only weeks before the Scottish Parliamentary election says the SNP’s Campaign Director Angus Robertson.

In today’s Times newspaper a queue of anonymous party sources criticise Iain Gray for deciding the Labour group should vote against the SNP Government’s budget, saying he was led by an ‘immature minority’ within the party and that they should have accepted what John Swinney offered them since it met their demands and would let them look like they were acting in the ‘national interest’.

And in an online article in the New Statesman it is revealed by Dan Hodges that Labour’s draft manifesto for the Scottish Parliament elections is ‘uncosted’  - confirming SNP criticisms of Labour’s burgeoning policy announcements – and that the UK party will put all additional capacity into the Welsh Assembly elections  with only one additional party staff member seconded to the Scottish campaign.

Commenting Mr Robertson said:

"These reports just show that in May, voters will have a choice between a responsible, experienced SNP government aiming to protect Scotland’s progress by creating jobs, investing in essential public services and helping family budgets – or a divided and hypocritical Labour party putting immature political opposition before the people of Scotland.

“The revelations show Iain Gray was led on the Budget vote and that he isn’t even capable of leading his own group of MSPs, never mind Scotland.

“It just proves that they were offered all they wanted – and more – and put puerile political opposition before the national interest.

“It is obvious many of his MSPs are unhappy and have startlingly resorted to making known their unhappiness with Iain Gray’s leadership.

“The New Statesman is equally revealing in showing a lack of confidence in Iain Gray’s leadership by his London bosses who don’t believe the Scottish campaign is worthy of significant additional resources.

“Their revelation that their draft manifesto is uncosted only confirms what the SNP have been saying – that they have an uncosted wish-list of fantasy policies. They don't have a credible alternative for Scotland and their budget vote shows they are hypocritical, inexperienced and inconsistent.”

A 'LAME DUCK' JOURNALIST WORKING FOR A 'LAME DUCK' PAPER!

The First Minister announced 10 Bills, including one providing for a massive expansion in the role of Scottish Water, but said everything would be overshadowed by the deepest cuts since World War Two.
Mr Salmond also faced renewed calls to publish plans for an estimated £1.7 billion of spending cuts next year, but refused to do so until George Osborne’s Comprehensive Spending Review (CSR) is published next month.  Announcing his plans to the Scottish Parliament, the SNP leader said a Budget Bill for 2011-12 would be “at the heart of our legislative programme” and this will be submitted within four weeks of the CSR.

The bombastic, bearded prick above, headlined his article in The Daily Telegraph as, "lame duck Alex Salmond unveils Government programme".  This fuckwit, who is described as the 'Scottish Correspondent' and might as well be a fucking Martian because no one reads his shite paper in Scotland anyway,  picked up on a comment from the Tory spokesman.  A Martian, eh?  Maybe that's not as far fetched as it sounds.  Anyway  not only, is he a prick, but he also gets others to write his headlines.  Go to the comments section and all you get is more articles by this useless piece of Unionist shite.

Too long in Scotland we've had to put up with a hostile Unionist press.  Instead of discussing how the Scottish Government can propose a budget until they know what money, they are getting back from Westminster in pocket-money, the press up here constantly attack the SNP whilst sucking up the arses of the Labour fuckwits, their paymasters, like Iain Gray, surely the worst Scottish political leader ever, but only slightly worst than that fat matron, Goldie.  I would encourage anyone wanting to get the news from a more impartial source, to check out http://www.newsnetscotland.com/ .

THE INDEPENDENT BUDGET REVIEW-WHY ARE WE CONTEMPLATING IT IN AN OIL RICH COUNTRY?

The INDEPENDENT BUDGET REVIEW was set up by the Scottish Government to consider options for future public expenditure.  Let's look at some of the main points:

  • A cut in jobs by up to 60,000 by 2014
  • A 2 year pay freeze and a review of pension arrangements
  • No overriding presumption of protection for any services
  • Council tax freeze discontinued
  • All free and subsidised services in the Health Service including NHS eye examinations, personal and nursing care, reduction in prescription charges and concessionary travel should be curtailed.
  • Scottish Water should be privatised
  • Higher education should no longer be free
Now all these might sound like severe but necessary recommendations to pay for LABOUR'S FINANCIAL MESS, with the economy in it's worst state since the 2nd World War.  But consider this.  Scotland actually produces more oil than QATAR.  Scotland should be a rich country.  We have just discovered a new oil field, the CATCHER, which has reserves of 360 million barrels about 10 times the normal size of any Field discovered so far.  That is without the oil reserves in the Clyde and off the west coast which so far lay untapped.

But what do the SNP Government do.  They play into the Unionists' hands by pissing about with DEVOLUTION and whether we want a CALMAN or CALMAN PLUS, which anyone with any sense can see is a UNIONIST trap which will have Scotland keeping the UK economy afloat again, just as it has done since the 70s.  Meanwhile the people of Scotland will keep on voting Labour, falling further into the mire of poverty.  The Unionists are very happy to laugh at Alex Salmond's somewhat rash comments about the ARC OF PROSPERITY, before Labour's recession, but one of the countries in the Arc, was NORWAY, a country more akin to Scotland due to their oil wealth.  There's no recession in Norway.  Their old people don't freeze to death in the winter like they do here, despite it being colder and of course they had control of their own banks which weren't allowed to make risky investment decisions in foreign countries.

The SNP should be shouting the INDEPENDENCE MESSAGE from the rooftops, instead of adopting this gradual process to full fiscal powers.  Many Independence supporters are getting fed up with this approach and instead of seizing the moment, if they are not very careful, it could lead to schisms amongst the Independence movement, when this should be the moment to press ahead to FULL INDEPENDENCE or at least FULL FISCAL CONTROL, with a shared agreement with England over things like defence.  A country with Scotland's wealth should be investing in it's infrastructure and people, not MAKING CUTS!

SORRY BUT THESE AMERICAN SENATORS ARE REALLY GETTING ON MY TITS!

Sorry folks to bang on about these FUCKING AMERICAN SENATORS, I was going to post about something else tonight, but I saw the following piece in The Telegraph and it made my blood boil.

The US Senate Foreign Relations Committee is expected to summon executives from the firm as well as former ministers to account for their role in the controversial release at a hearing next week.
Sen Bob Menendez of New Jersey, who will chair the hearing, said yesterday that the senators "wanted information about how the doctors got it so wrong" and wanted to know more about the "interplay between the British and Scottish governments and the interplay between BP and the former British government".

Well let me tell you one thing.  If any senior member of the Scottish Executive is SUMMONED and goes to the hearing, they can stick my SNP membership card right up their crevasse when they get back!   You would have thought that the American Senate would have learnt their lesson the last time they summoned a SCOTSMAN, when GORGEOUS GEORGE made a fucking arse of them!  Just imagine what will happen, if they get one with BRAINS!

LATEST POLL OF POLLS-SNP UP EIGHT PERCENT!

The latest polls have shown a rise in support for the SNP of eight percent from the 2005 General Election.

SNP Depute Leader Nicola Sturgeon said:
"This is a very strong showing from the SNP as the only party to gain  ground in Scotland from the last Westminster election. SNP support is up 8  points as all the London parties see their vote fall.  "Voters are turning away from the 2 main UK parties and choosing a positive alternative - in Scotland this poll demonstrates that alternative  is the SNP.
"While the Lib Dem's may fool voters in England that support is not being  replicated in Scotland because people have a more credible and attractive alternative to the failed Westminster parties.
"Despite their high profile in the TV debates Labour, the Lib Dems and the  Tories are down on the 2005 election as Scottish voters turn against the  Westminster machine and in favour of local and national champions.
We will show that in a balanced Parliament it is only a vote for the SNP that will put Scotland's interests on the Westminster agenda."

SALMOND TARGETS ENGLAND WITH ASH IN REVENGE FOR LEADERS' DEBATE!

After consultation today in Edinburgh, FIRST MINISTER, ALEX SALMOND, has ordered all WINDFARMS in Scotland to blow the VOLCANIC ASH which currently sits over Scotland TOWARDS ENGLAND!

"It's essential that we get our Airports and infrastructures back on line as quickly as possible and anyway blowing the ash towards ENGLAND will teach the bastards for not letting me take part in the LEADERS' DEBATE last night to give the SCOTTISH VIEWPOINT" he told D.L. this morning.
IAIN GRAYMAN, the Scottish labour leader has protested stating, "this is typical of the Scottish Government picking fights with my GAFFER.  The SAVIOUR OF THE WORLD won't now be able to fly home to support Labour candidates the length and breadth of Scotland in their campaigns, (to their GREAT RELIEF).

FORMER SCOTTISH SECRETARY-LABOUR WILL GIVE EVERY OAP A FREE LIGHTER!

FORMER SCOTTISH SECRETARY, JIM MURPHY has pledged that SCOTTISH LABOUR will give every PENSIONER in Scotland a 'FREE DISPOSABLE LIGHTER'!

Launching the Labour party's MANIFESTO in Scotland, Murphy told the expectant press pack, "Er, we couldn't come up with anything that wasn't the SCOTTISH GOVERNMENT'S responsibility so we came up with the free lighter scheme for the elderly.  We are sure that SCOTLAND'S SENIOR CITIZENS won't want to bother their families, HARDWORKING MUMS AND DADS, to complain about the LACK OF HEAT in their homes next year, WHEN WE ABOLISH THE FUEL BONUS, so with their free lighters they will be able to set light TO SOME OF THE FURNITURE to keep warm through the long winter nights.  As ever unlike the SNP, Scottish Labour are at the forefront of innovative thinking in a modern society".
