Ministers have been forced to seek permission from Prince Charles before passing laws in at least a dozen separate areas during the past five years, it emerged last night.
Freedom of Information requests revealed ministers from six departments have sought the Prince of Wales’s consent on  legislation in areas ranging from road safety and energy reforms to gambling and planning.
The requirement stems from a little-known constitutional right for the prince to effectively veto legislation in areas which might affect his private interests.

I HATE BRITISH WINTERTIME!

I awoke this morning at my usual time of 8 o'clock.  The sun was just peeping through the blinds and then it dawned on me that I had forgotten to put the clocks back.

An impending doom spread over my mind, as I realised that once again, I was going to have to live in a  world of dark and cold for 6 months.  Why do we have to be one hour back from the continent?  Why can't we have 'double summertime', like the nice Mr Cameron wants?  Because some farmer in the north of Scotland objects?  So we all have to lose one hour of sunshine and light to keep his coos happy?  

I got into an argument with some teuchter from Caithness, (north of Scotland where John o'Groats is), who was complaining that it wouldn't be light until 9.30 in the morning if we went to continental time.  As I told him, if I lived on an island and the wind blew for a couple of months and ferry couldn't dock, I would just have to put up with it.  So if you don't like it move south!  Why should the rest of us suffer because 2% of the population of Britain lives in the north of Scotland?  It seems to work OK in Finland, Denmark and Sweden!

Of course, Alex Salmond is going to make a play of an argument with the rights of Scottish farmers over the rights of the rest of the UK.  He's quite right to do that as well.  It's his job to make Scotland independent or at least, 'Devo maxed, i.e. in charge of all our own tax and spend with shared responsibilities with the rest of the UK for things like defence.  That will be the first move towards an independent Scotland, mark my words.  But, in the meantime, can I have my summer back?

Whitehall officials urgently review Britain's EU membership

Whitehall officials are urgently reviewing every aspect of Britain’s membership of the European Union to support David Cameron’s promises to bring back powers from Brussels.

The review, involving every major government department, emerged as the Prime Minister bluntly accused France and Germany of orchestrating “constant attacks” on the City of London through new EU red tape on the financial sector. 

I think there is as much chance of Britain repatriating powers from Europe as there is of me being the next Archbishop of Canterbury.  Britain's leaders have been given their orders by the PTB, to whit the meeting on the Rothschild's yacht before the election for Osborne.  The Tory MPs can bleat as much as they like, but we are not going to get any powers back from Europe, indeed the dangers are that we become a part of a second tier Europe with France and Germany leading the Euro countries into a new prosperity with the help of China.  They are itching to get their hands on some of our large companies after having taken the market for all the cheap shite.  I must have spent about £500 in our local Chinese emporium in Spain, because when you are setting up a house there are only so many things you can take from here.  Whenever a shop of any decent size shuts in Spain and from what I can see France too, it opens up a week later full of Chinese shite.  But, there is nothing you can't get there from a sink plunger to a light bulb, from stick on tattoos to a set of plates.  I tried to support the local Spanish shops, but you can't buy everything in them. 

The PTB, want to open up a global world, where companies are in control and we are inexplicably heading towards that state of affairs.  I'm only relieved that I won't be around in 30 years time to see it all unfolding.  Why then, do I want to move to Spain, I hear you ask?  Funnily enough, when you are in Spain, you feel more 'European'.  Does that sound stupid?  I don't think that The EU is right for Britain, but I believe it probably is for Spain.  Over there, they think differently  from us. They are more open to European integration.  FFS, they even talk to the French!

Britain, thanks to Blair and his cronies' ideas on immigration, have changed Britain for ever.  I'm told that London is a shitehole as are many parts of the North of England.  However, just as 200 years ago, the immigrants tend to migrate to the cities, so those of us who live in the 'country' should be safe for a few years yet, until they make money and migrate out!

WHAT SHOULD WE DO WITH BANNED DRIVERS?

What is to be done with people who are banned from driving?

It only happened to me once, when I was banned for 3 months for exceeding my points for speeding.  Now in saying that, I did drive a fast car which was capable of higher speeds and shorter braking distances than most and I was driving 60,000 miles per year.  I think we all see drivers and say, "fuck me, they shouldn't be driving"!!!  Usually to be fair, old, doddery bastards, like my father-in-law, who as many of you know died at the beginning of the year and had great difficulty walking, never mind driving.

But does, banning someone from driving teach them a lesson?  Or is it better, to send them on a course of some sort, at their expense of course and at least let them continue to drive in the meantime.  How many people have lost their jobs after being totted up for a driving ban because of cameras?

In my case I was fortunate that I had my own business and I could get my wife to drive me about, although it did affect my business to some extent and probably cost the jobs of some of my employees, a fact that the old fucker, who tried me, didn't seem to be able to comprehend.

Coming up to Christmas, we will have the 'drink drive campaign'.  Now, I don't in this day and age have any sympathy with some prick who gets pished in the pub and drives home. However, they seem to take a delight in Scotland at stopping people at 8.30 in the morning when they are going to their work and might be slightly over the limit from the night before.  When I was drinking heavily, I never took an early appointment in December.  Although, in the 70's, I did it on more than one occasion.  On one celebrated Christmas party with my lads drinking 20+ Whiskies, (Scottish measures) and 6 half pints and driving  up the High Street and demolishing the road sign on the way into my street.  I accept that that was wrong, but they were different times.

I don't think however, that jailing someone who is banned for speeding serves any purposes, other than letting general society, chuckle and rub their hands in glee. Does it make them a better or worse driver?

How worse is it to mug some old granny of her pension and get off with it as happens now?  When are we going to regard, crimes of violence, higher than a driving offence?  Of course, if someone is totally reckless and someone is killed that is a  completely different matter, but let's get things into perspective!

WHY DO WE PUT UP WITH THE BBC?

A hillwalker has been reunited with his dog after it was lost for four nights in the mountains near Loch Glascarnoch between Inverness and Ullapool.

The above story is pulled straight from the BBC news page.  It will no doubt be reported on in the BBC Scotland bulletin tonight at 6.30.  Is it any wonder why people ask, with the financial world in turmoil and peoples' lives being affected on a daily basis, why they have to pay a fee for this sentimental shite?  The BBC on Monday had a really good investigation into Musa Kusa and his apparent freedom in Qatar, after being released by the British Authorities.  This is more the type of thing we want to see, not pish about some dog lost for four days, FFS.

If this is the best that BBC Scotland can come up with then the idea of a Scottish 6 o'clock news should be hit very squarely on the head!

CLINTON SHOULD DEMAND THE REAL LOCKERBIE BOMBER.

 

That American harridan, Hilary Clinton, a bitter, twisted, crabbit bastard because she believes she would have made a better President than her feckless husband, has been demanding that the new Libyan Government returns al-Megrahi to serve out the rest of his sentence for the Lockerbie bomb.

I think that most people, at least the ones who bothered to research the matter, would realise is, that al-Megrahi was almost certainly a 'patsy'.  However the fucker above, Musa Kusa, the Libyan spy-master was almost certainly the one behind the bombing, if the Libyans were the perpetrators at all and there has to be some doubt about that.  Why then did the West let him fuck off to Qatar to live out the rest of his life with his ill-gotten gains?  He came to Britain for a couple of days to answer some questions and then went to live in the sun.  Why do we not have him locked up somewhere very safe?  Could it be that he knows too much?  Or are the security forces, just slack fuckers?

So, instead of fat-arse Clinton demanding this and that, she and that fucker, Mueller, the head of the FBI should be dragged here to this country, (Scotland) and forced to answer some pertinent questions before a Holyrood committee.  Like why were the CIA personnel pulled of the flight and what was the cargo?  Instead of hounding a reasonably placed security officer, who the last I saw, was patently dying of cancer and putting international doubt of a Scottish Government, who made the right decision based on Scottish law.  For those that say that he shouldn't have been released as he was not dying, I have only two words for them and it's not fuck off, but, Ronnie Biggs.

John Swinney paints a picture of prosperity with Scottish independence

An independent Scotland would be the sixth wealthiest country in the world, Finance Secretary John Swinney has claimed.

In his closing speech to the SNP conference in Inverness on Sunday, the Perthshire North MSP insisted Scotland was ''subsidising the rest of the UK.''

He also launched an attack on successive Westminster Governments, saying the previous Labour administration had presided over ''chaos and crisis'' while the current coalition is using ''financial blackmail'' over public sector pensions.

He added: ''Independence will give the Scottish Parliament the normal powers enjoyed in nations across the world to deliver jobs and growth — responsibility for our own affairs, rather than the dead hand of Westminster control.

''And, of course, the forces of negativity will tell us that Scotland can't stand on her own two feet. Well, let me give them a taste of what we are going to say about all this.

''As the global economy recovers from recession, all countries run a deficit, but the UK deficit is higher than that in Scotland.

''In four out of the last five years Scotland has run a budget surplus. The UK was in deficit in each of these years.

''Scotland is subsidising the rest of the UK. Our country pays her way.''

He accused the UK of ''squandering'' North Sea oil revenues and said it would not have happened under independence.

''The figures show that, with a geographical share of our offshore resources, Scotland would be the sixth wealthiest country in the world, 10 places ahead of the UK at 16th,'' he said.

''This is the time to put the wealth of Scotland to work for the people of Scotland.''

Mr Swinney repeated calls for a ''Plan MacB'' — the SNP's approach to the economy.

And, reflecting the four-day conference's large focus on independence, his final remarks were devoted to the coming referendum.

''This is it my friends,'' he said. ''This is our moment. This is our chance to fulfil the promise we made to our people, the promise that every person who chooses to live in this country should have the chance to shape the future of the country.

''Our task is now quite simple. We must go out and persuade and inspire the people of our country that independence will be right for them.

''That is our task. Today let us commit to fulfil our promise to the people of Scotland.''

POLICE fear that the brutal murder of a gay man who was beaten up, tied to a lamppost and then burned to death in Ayrshire, Scotland, in the early hours of Saturday morning could have been a homophobic attack. The charred body of Stuart Walker, a hotel worker from Cumnock, was discovered by a member of the public at 5am on Saturday.

Are there any lessons to be learnt for Scotland in the Libyan affair?

Well Gaddafi was obviously a bastard, we all knew that.  But, when he came to power he got rid of the previous administration who were seen as even bigger bastards at the time.  Whilst the Libyans welcomed his military coup, in Scotland in 1707, when the Scottish people were sold down the river by their 'betters', the nobility, who only had their own interests at heart and had been bribed by English money to push Scotland towards the Union, there were public protests in the streets.  But times change.  They have changed in Libya as they also have in Scotland, although it is obviously a shorter time span in the Arab country.

Some would say of course that the Union has been good for Scotland.  Since 1707, the UK economy and Empire grew exponentially, thanks to the enslavement of the common people who worked in the mills and factories to produce the wealth which flowed from their efforts.  The common soldier, convinced that he was fighting for the defence of Britain died in their millions to conquer the lands of other peoples, although they would say they were 'explorers' who brought enlightenment to the heathen.  It seems to me that we have failed in many ways to civilise those heathens if some of the facts we are fed by a biased media are to be believed.  That being the case, the enlightenment would appear to have been for the benefit of the power brokers who really reaped the rewards and whose children rarely appear in foreign fields to be shot at and killed.  How many of our MPs and even more importantly the PTB, have sons fighting for an pipeline in Afghanistan?

It struck me tonight when I heard an article on the news at the  EBC, that said that the future of the Libyan people was ensured because they had huge supplies of oil, that there was a huge similarity with Scotland.  I'm not saying that we have had a 'mad-dog' in charge for the last 30 years, although some in Scotland might say that Maggie was of a similar ilk, but I do believe that the time has come for Scotland to go it's own way and take control of it's own affairs.  The Scottish Secretary, Michael Moore, said today, with Unionist pride in his voice, that an independent Scotland would have been unable to intervene in another Libyan, like the UK has over the last ten months.  He completely misses the point.  No one in Scotland, or at least very few, people think we should be interfering in another country's politics.  What about Saudi Arabia or Bahrain?  Why aren't we carpet bombing their leaders?  We all know the answer to that!

No, let's remain friends with England, we have a shared history of sorts, but many in England think we are a drain on their economy, although that has been proved to be false many times and after all we wouldn't want to outstay our welcome!

This wee bird, called Rhianna or something, is supposed to be a porn star of some sort.  The Government is supposed to be stopping kids watching porn online by working out some agreement with ISPs.

Now I am in general against all censorship.  In my day if a young man wanted to knock one off, you had to find a grubby copy of H & E, (that's Health and Efficiency), a magazine which gave you nude pictures of naturists going about what ever it is that naturists get up to.  Mind you I might find out as here is a scuddy beach here and I'm working on the wife to see if she wants to go, so far with no success.  Either that or you had to use your imigination and think about a girl in your class, that you fancied.

I think that the problem with porn online is that there is too much choice.  Fuck me, you can get any type of stuff you want, (I am told).  Do you think that homosexual people, don't know they're homosexual until they see another persons' genitals?  I don't see what Rhianna has to do with porn when you can get such an array online.  Don't give me any crap about parental control.  Any kid worth their salt can get round that in two minutes flat.  The wife tried that with me and I got round it and I'm hopeless!
