Minimum alcohol pricing, there's a quandry.

We have to face up to the  fact that we in the UK and more particularly in Scotland, have a big problem with alcohol.  When you go to Spain or France the only drunks you see are Brit tourists or occasionally a North European.  Some of the scenes in our city centres on a Saturday night are a disgrace.  Some people will say that is because drink is so dear that people get hammered in the house before they go out.  So should we make drink cheaper?  Would that bring in a more responsible attitude to drinking?  Personally I doubt it. But, then I suppose you could say that it is much cheaper in Spain where I drink a reasonable wine for £0.65 a litre and Spaniards don't get pissed, even at the football.

Now I speak as one who has drunk like a fish for most of his life, so I think I might have some input here.  I do in principle support minimum pricing but I do believe that £0.50 a unit is too dear.  How, if it gets through the courts, can we charge £0.50 when in England, they are looking to bring in a price of £0.40.  Ridiculous.  And why should we hand the supermarkets a £100 million bonus?  Those bastards have ravaged our town centres, turning them into 'tesco extras', charity shops and bookies.  I'd clobber any multinational in an out of town centre till they felt their orange pips squeeze.  

Is it possible to take this money off them and use it to pay for alcohol education for our young?  I don't know.  But, I will tell you one thing.  This is what a responsible Government means to the people of Scotland.  The SNP and it could be rightly or wrongly in your estimation had this policy as part of their manifesto despite the fact that Labour, the Tories and the Libdums were against it in the last parliament and they know it will lose them votes, but they have the interests of Scotland's people at heart.  Suddenly of course, CamaClegg have decided they are in favour so the Libdums and the Tories have changed their tune.  So in other words, they are not interested in the health of the people of Scotland, just in their narrow Unionist policies.  Plus ca change as my French brothers say!

This is the face of the new caring Tory party, MP Philip Davies who has suggested that the disabled should work for less than the minimum wage.  He said :

“The people who are most disadvantaged by the national minimum wage are the most vulnerable in society,” he said. “My concern about it is it prevents those people from being given the opportunity to get the first rung on the employment ladder.” 

It's because they are vulnerable they are disadvantaged, and vice versa, you stupid fuckpig.  The next thing will be to suggest the long term unemployed should work for less than the minimum wage and before you know where we are the minimum wage will have disappeared and all the huge global companies like McDonalds, Tescos and Pizzahut will have sad 50 year olds serving chips to kids and getting paid £3.50 per hour or they will lose their dole money.

At one time, you know, I might have considered myself a Tory, but scum like this fucker, just tarnish the memory of a time when the Tory party were genuinely working for the country. 

COALITION PARTIES IN TATTERS AS CANDIDATES RESIGN LEFT, RIGHT AND CENTRE!

A third Conservative Scottish election candidate has stood down, as the party officially launched its campaign for Holyrood.  David Meikle had demanded an investigation into the ranking of candidates for the party's Glasgow's list, alleging electoral malpractice.

Meanwhile, a top Liberal Democrat candidate for the Scottish elections has quit the party.  Hugh O'Donnell was the leading candidate in the party's Central Scotland list.  Mr O'Donnell said was unhappy with the direction of the party in Scotland and the UK Tory/Lib Dem coalition.

New polls have shown that the SNP is within touching distance of the 40% it need to be the largest party in Scotland and be elected again under the slogan, 'Alex Salmond for First Minister'

The UNIONIT parties have been shown to have not a clue about what the requirements of the Scottish people are as they squabble amongst themselves to please their Illuminati masters at Westminster.  They even get the Royals to stick on a wedding the week before the Scottish Elections to boost their hopes.

Cameron spoke about a 'Job Creation Summit', on the Andrew Marr show, being held in Downing Street today.
Firms making job creation pledges today include Asda 7,500; InterContinental Hotels 1,000;  John Lewis 4,000; Morrisons 6,000; McDonald's 3,000; Sainsbury's 6,500  and Tesco, 9,000.

Cameron held out little hope that Labour's planned rise in fuel duty, due to be introduced in April, will be deferred. But he said he hoped that the increase in income tax to 50% for those earning more than £150,000 would be withdrawn.

So, in other words, the bastard wants us and our children working in low paid shite jobs in the service industry, while they increase the cost of fuel above most working peoples' pockets.  In the meantime, someone earning above £150,000, who is too stupid to have a decent accountant is unable pay a MARGINAL rate of 50%.

This is at the same time as he cuts the welfare bill for needy people.  Don't believe all the propaganda you read in the MSN about scroungers getting huge welfare benefits, it's crap. In the meantime Billions are spent on the armed forces and Trident and at the same time old people are freezing to death because they can't heat their homes.  All part of course, of the grand plan for humanity, at least in the EU.  We starve while the politicians, OUR SERVANTS(!), gorge themselves and throw us the scraps.

Nick has been up and down the country this week following the launch of the 2010 general election campaign, dropping the Tory VAT bomb and preparing for the first Leaders' debate.

55% VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE IS UNDEMOCRATIC!

Having spent the last three days in hospital with an irregular heart beat and having not read any other blogs, I am not sure if this subject has been done to death but I have a lot of disquiet over the proposed 55% rule for a vote of no confidence.

If you look at the numbers and taking into account that SEIN FEIN don't take up their five seats in the commons even if everybody else including the Libthingies voted against the Tories the most votes they could muster would be 338.  If you take 55% of the 650 seats in the commons that is 358.  So therefore to topple a Tory Government, 20 of their own number would have to vote in the vote of no confidence against their own administration to change it and trigger another election.

Now I've heard of turkeys voting for Christmas, but that is ridiculous!  Therefore we are stuck with a Tory government whether we like it or not,  for the next five years.  Now as it turns out, although I want SCOTTISH INDEPENDENCE, I would rather see a TORY LED COALITION IN WESTMINSTER than those shower of TALENTLESS FUCKWITS, LABOUR  and I might just have a tenner or two at the bookies on the Government being in power for 5 years.

IS IT TIME THE SNP DITCHED ALEX SALMOND?

Alex Salmond is a slick operator.  Of that there is little doubt.  But has he been there too long?  Has he now lost the political nous that's kept him at the top of his game for so many years?

After what without doubt has been THE MOST INEFFECTUAL CAMPAIGN in history in which the main party political broadcast appeared to be some fuckwit 'high-fiving' his mates and then walking up a mountain to shout "SCOTLAND" at the top of his voice like some reject from 'Braveheart', most SNP bloggers like myself and  SUBROSA are quite frankly incredulous at the way Salmond has jumped into bed with LABOUR in order to form what he terms a 'PROGRESSIVE ALLIANCE' or some such ridiculous moniker.

If we had wanted to vote LABOUR we would have voted for them.  Most SNP voters fucking hate LABOUR.  I for one, would rather cut off my right arm than vote for them.  And what's more Labour hate the SNP just as much.  What Alex Salmond forgets is that many SNP supporters want Scottish independence not go create some great socialist state, but simply for the reason that we believe we can coax our fellow Scots away from the habit of appearing to be benefit junkies and back to being the progressive people we have been in the past.  I believe in social justice, but you have to wonder sometimes at a people who have been fed shite by Labour for sixty years but still vote them back in every chance they get.

Alex Salmond, should be willing to work with any government who is able to take power.  We all know that the cuts are coming and the SNP's 'more Nats, less cuts' slogan at the election was cringe worthy and was seen through by the electorate.  He should be working to get the best deal he can to further the causes of INDEPENDENCE, that's why he's there.

The Scottish elections in 2011 are now starting to loom and it's time the SNP got their act together for them.  We don't want to let those Labour bastards back in!

SENIOR LABOUR POLITICIANS STICK UP FOR CLEGG IN ATTEMPT TO STAY IN POWER!

Senior Labour politicians have sought to defend Nick Clegg amid increasing signs that the party has accepted it can stay in office only with the support of the Liberal Democrats. 
In an unprecedented show of support for a rival leader, Lord Mandelson, the Business Secretary, and David Miliband, the Foreign Secretary, attempted to shield Mr Clegg from the increased scrutiny which has followed his sudden popularity.
Although Labour are trailing in third place in most opinion polls, the way the parties’ votes are distributed means that a strong showing for the Liberal Democrats could allow SHITEBAG Brown to stay in No 10.

If you are thinking about voting Lib Dem, can I urge you not to.  In Scotland we had a coalition between LABOUR and the LIBDEMS in the Scottish Parliament and the Lib Dems were squashed by Labour and given a few paltry posts in Government.  The same thing will happen in WESTMINSTER.

If you're in SCOTLAND please vote SNP to keep Labour out and in ENGLAND please vote for the TORIES or UKIP where they strong, (Bercow's seat!).  DON'T LET FUCKING LABOUR BACK IN BY THE BACK DOOR!

"Sarah and I sometimes just sit in Downing Street, after having had a supper of frozen Cottage Pie from The Co-Op, watching some game of footy on the telly or one of those reality game shows like, "Mandy rehearses for the part of Tinkerbell" and how we laugh!  Not for us, the 'high life' that the Tories enjoy".

A Mr Ainsworth, a baldy twat, who has taken to wearing a 'syrup of figs' in recent years and was standing nearby, was heard to remark, "FUCK THAT!  I hope that miserable SCOTCH FUCKER gets his.  I'm fed up being ordinary.  I want to be in STRINGFELLOWS WITH DAVE AND GEORGEY-BOY!

UKIP PROPOSE BAN ON WEARING OF BURKAS AND NIQABS IN PUBLIC

The UK Independence Party is to call for a ban on the burka and the niqab — the Islamic cloak that covers women from head to toe and the mask that conceals most of the face — claiming they affront British values.

The policy, which a number of European countries are also debating, is an attempt by UKIP to broaden its appeal and address the concerns of disaffected white working-class voters.  UKIP would be the first national party to call for a total ban on burkas, though the far-Right BNP believes they should be banned from schools.
 
Lord Pearson of Rannoch, the leader of UKIP, said yesterday: “We are taking expert advice on how we could do it. It makes sense to ban the burka — or anything which conceals a woman’s face — in public buildings. But we want to make it possible to ban them in private buildings. It isn’t right that you can’t see someone’s face in an airport.”  He explained that UKIP wanted to bring to the fore the issue of the increasing influence of Sharia in Britain: “We are not Muslim bashing, but this is incompatible with Britain’s values of freedom and democracy.” (Strange choice of words when you want to ban something).

I think it will be surprising how many people will vote for a 'single issue party' at the coming election.  I just caught the tail end of 'Question Time' last night, but I'm sure I heard one of the panelists saying that one of her constituents was going to vote BNP because 'they were going to sort out the wheelie bins'!  Sometimes you forget how stupid people can be.  I think if I was in  England, my vote would certainly be going to UKIP.  Are UKIP the 'thinking mans'" BNP.  I don't think so and they are promising to flesh out their policies unlike some of the other parties.  Remember they came second to the Tories in England in the EURO elections and depending on how many votes they get, the election will be greatly influenced.  If Labour lose votes to the BNP, them the Tories will lose votes to UKIP, particularly amongst disaffected Tory voters who wanted a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty.

There follows a comment on Tory Chairman, Eric Pickle's blog on which most of the comments are criticising Cameron's backtracking on Europe.

Ok moaners, you have made your point, Go ahead and vote elsewhere and condemn the rest of the country to another disastrous five years of Mr Brown.  The Lisbon Treaty exists, ratified by every EU country including ours. Blame Brown not Cameron for this, including no referendum for our voters before we ratified it.  The issue of a future vote on withdrawing from the EU is another question needing probably a year of informed debate. I suspect most people would opt for the status quo rather than face an uncertain future of UK on its own. Comparisons with the Norway solution is wishful thinking. Norway has a population only the size of Birmingham and massive oil and gas reserves in the North Sea, plus hydo-electric power.
