Prince Charles was personally consulted by George Osborne about a controversial change to the law which has significantly boosted the Royal Family’s finances.Beth Russell, the Chancellor’s principal private secretary wrote: ‘I should be grateful if you could lay this letter, with my humble duty, before the Prince of Wales and seek His consent so far as the interests of the Duke of Cornwall are concerned to place those interests at the disposal of Parliament for the purposes of this Bill.’Miss Russell outlines the Bill’s main proposals and points out that the introduction of a new single grant to the Royal Household would generate more income for the Royal Family and would not have to be continually renewed by Parliament.She wrote: ‘The new grant is normally to be set equal to 15 per cent of the profit of the Crown Estate two years prior. Linking funding to Crown Estate revenues in this way should provide semi-automatic incremental growth in the grant, reducing the need for regular parliamentary intervention.’

Banned, why the fuck should the crown own the foreshore all round the UK? That is where the profit will come from when off-shore renewable energy projects have to pay those bastards to enable them to do business.
I've long advocated a percentage of the Crown Estate revenues as a replacement for the Civil List . That way there's no sour-faced arguments from the likes of Frank Roy .

Oli, you should know me by now. I don't follow any policy apart from my own. I do however believe in independence and as the SNP are the only party that advocates that apart from the fucked up Greens and the Scottish Socialists, I have no option to support the SNP.
