HOPELESS, 'RADICAL' EX-LABOUR LEADER CROAKS IT AT 96

Isn't it brilliant when you kick the bucket, particularly in politics.  The tributes are flowing in for MICHAEL FOOT, who as everyone now knows died today at 96.

I was around when FOOT was at the top of the Labour Party and he was weak willed and dittery, a radical ex-communist who put the Labour party back by 20 years.  The STUPID TWAT that is Jim Murphy, who when interviewed on the BBC, Politics Scotland programme, which turned into a Labour rant, when he wasn't trying to take digs at the SNP, described FOOT as a person who 'brought the Labour Party together'.  Well, FOOT was the direct cause of the 'GANG OF FOUR' splitting from the Labour Party and starting the SDP.

FOOT tried to appease an increasingly radical TRADE UNION MOVEMENT and in doing so only gave Margaret THATCHER the excuse to decimate the COAL, STEEL AND NEWSPAPER  INDUSTRY in the UK.  (Not that it wasn't in need of decimation BTW).  

At the time he was seen as HOPELESS BASTARD.  So please, let's not have any ELEVATION OF FOOT as some great Leader.  He will always be remembered as the OLD DUFFER in the DONKEY JACKET who had to be shown what to do at the Cenotaph by Margaret Thatcher. 

IT'S SCOTLAND'S COAL!

Vast coal deposits lying deep beneath the North Sea will be burnt in situ to generate up to 5 per cent of Britain’s energy needs, under new plans approved by the Government last week.


The UK Coal Authority has awarded licences to Clean Coal, an Anglo-American company, to develop five offshore sites for a technology called Underground Coal Gasification (UGC).  The method, which has not been used on a commercial scale in the UK, although it is widely used in Australia, taps the high energy content of coal while doing away with the costly and labour-intensive need to mine it first.
