ID CARD DEVELOPMENT COSTING £230K PER DAY

Almost £230,000 is spent every day on 'Big Brother' identity cards and biometric passports, despite the project being widely considered doomed.

Taxpayers' cash is being lavished on 'development' costs, amounting to a record £42million spent in six months this year - or £229,508 every day.

LibDem spokesman Chris Huhne, who obtained the figures, said 'such enthusiastic spending is brazen'.

He added: Any taxpayer's money spent on ID cards is wasted - they will not fight terrorism, cut crime or halt illegal working.

So Alex, when one of your UNIONIST PALS stands up at FMQs on Thursday and asks how much you are spending on the independence referendum, you can tell him that a scheme that HAS NO CHANCE OF COMING TO FRUITION COST £85 MILLION IN 2008/09.

The EU will impose ID Cards thus providing UKGov a fig leaf of an excuse: "It wisnae us - a big boy made us dae it."

The more money is spent now, the easier the line is: 'but it'd be a waste of the xxx million that we've already paid out if we stop now'.

Bastards.

I thought that Camreron had warned the companies ionvolved that an incoming Tory government would scrap the scheme and that, on the basis of his warning, they could expect no compensation for cancelled contracts ?
But, as others mention, it's all bollox anyway since the evil EU will do it anyway.

Scunnert, The E.U. will no doubt try and bring it in as the first step to chipping us all personally in order to control us. That's why it's doubly important that we get out of the fucking thing hopefully as an independent Scotland.

Eye, of course and without doubt the terrorism card will be played as well. There will be a few state sponsored explosions and we'll be told we have to have ID cards to protect us from bombers. A load of fucking shite.

Banned, I don't think we can any longer believe what Cameron says after his U turn on the referendum. He's like everyone else he'll just do what his masters tell him.

ID cards are commonplace in the majority of large and small businesses today.
