I'M NOT SURE THE EUROZONE WILL BREAK UP!

I've been following this debate about the Euro for well over a year now, as I am waiting to complete on a small house in Spain.  

I am no longer convinced that  the Eurozone is going to break up.  Alth ough the € has gone from £1.10 to £1.25, which is great for me, I don't think it is an economic decision any more but rather a political one.

I watched tonight a programme I had  taped where Michael Portillo goes to Greece and all parts of Germany to ask if they want to stay in the Euro and to a man and woman, they did.

When you are on the continent for any length of time your attitude to Europe and the Euro tends to change.  We in Britain have a sort of snobbish, standoffish attitude towards Europe and the Eurozone.  Now, while I am in Scotland, I don't want to see us joining, but when I am in Spain, it somehow seems ,OK.  How can that be?

CAMERON IS JUST GRANDSTANDING IN BURMA!

 

Cameron is just grandstanding in Burma, insisting that sanctions should be dropped!

There are still hundreds,  if not thousands of political prisoners  and the Lassie above who became a 'cause celebré' for the international media, has only 7% of the vote in the Burmese Parliament with the army controlling the rest through nominees.

This picture and the one of Cameron with the President will become as famous as the one of Blair with Gaddafi.  What bets that the next country that NATO 'liberates' will be Burma?  They have oil reserves after all AND a temple with 80 tons of gold on the roof.  More than we've got in the Bank of England!

DO GERMAN CARS COME WITH A DIFFERENT SPEED LIMIT FROM THE REST OF US?

 

After having driven the 1800 or so  miles from Spain to Scotland this week, keeping more or less to the national speed limits, it struck me that at least 80% of the cars that overtook me, were of German origin, BMWs, Audis, Mercs, Volkswagens and the odd Porche.

Do the owners of these vehicles get some sort of extra speed limit or is it just a teutonic  power thing?

BRITAIN SHOULD NOT HAVE HAD TROOPS ON THE GROUND!

 

Britain should not have had troops on the ground in contravention of UN resolution 1973.  We were told that there were not any troops on the ground and it was purely a 'no-fly' zone.

Now very few, deny that Gaddafi was a bit of a nutter, but he was a best mate of most of the British Government and quite a few of the Royal Family.  Our secret service, conspired with him to betray several Libyan dissidents over the years.  When the CIA inspired revolt against him started the US, stood back and let Britain and France get on with it.  It now transpires that not only did we supply them with troops, but also weapons, as we all knew at the time.

We may find that  the NTC will be worse than what there was before and our politicians must have control over their secret services.  They should not be able to do what they want and it's time we told our rulers that.

XMAS DINNER FOR £2.89 EACH FOR YOU TIGHT BASTARDS!

Now purely as a service for you Christians, (I am a Humanist and anyway will be in Spain for Xmas), I provide you with a way to have your Xmas dinner for £2.89 each.

So, my friends, although I will be here for another 5 weeks or so, before I winter in the balmy, Costa Calida, (where it will be 20c), I wish you a merry Christmas, (I refuse to say Happy Holidays in a Christian country).  It is a little early I know, but that is the current trend, Xmas in August and all that.

THE PLACE IS FULL OF FOREIGNERS!

 

Muchachos, it's 31 degrees here!  And no fucking rain!!!!!!

I have noticed that they drive better here, too.  Their lane discipline is much better than us white people, but there a lot of foreign cars.  I've been amazed how many French cars there are in France and how many Dagos there are here!

Hasta aproxima, (as us Europhiles say).  And BTW, tthe measures of Mahatma Ghandi are brilliant for one who likes a drink!  I had to have 2 coffees as well to kid the wife on.
