Nick Clegg has claimed that the British people have ‘a more insidious cross to bear’ than Germany over the Second World War.

In an astonishing attack on our national pride, the Liberal Democrat leader said we suffered from ‘delusions of grandeur’ and a ‘misplaced sense of superiority’ over having defeated the horrors of Nazism.

Well Mr Clegg, I'm old enough to have had a father who fought bravely against the NAZI HORDES and saw many men die in battle beside him.  The Battlefields of the World are littered with brave men who fought and died against your GERMAN FRIENDS and believe me when I tell you that all over Britain tonight, people are seeing the LIBDEMS in a different light, as the APPEASERS OF TYRRANY.  You Sir, are nothing but a POPINJAY!

Nazi theft of Greek gold during the Second World War is to blame for the country's faltering finances, Athens claimed yesterday. It came as new protests about the economy turned violent.  Greece said the real culprit for its problems were the Nazis, whose occupation lasted from 1941 to 1945.


 Theodoros Pangalos says Germany has no right to criticise Greece over its debt crisis when it's still suffering from the Nazi occupation, while Angela Merkel has ignored appeals to help the debt-ridden nation.  'They took away the Greek gold that was at the Bank of Greece, they took away the Greek money and they never gave it back,' said Deputy prime minister Theodoros Pangalos.  'I don't say they have to give back the money necessarily but they have at least to say "thanks".'


It was the same with SCOTLAND.  Edward the first of England took our gold in 1291 and at today's values it is valued at £67 billion, which coincidentally is our share of the UK NATIONAL DEBT.  FUNNY THAT.

The Conservative Party today condemned one of its own MPs for comparing the treatment of politicians over their expense claims to the suffering of the Jews under the Nazis.
David Wilshire, 66, who paid more than £100,000 in taxpayers' money to his own company, claimed the 'witchhunt' over expenses would 'undermine democracy'.
The disgraced MP, who will resign at the next election, added: 'Branding a whole group of people as undesirables led to Hitler's gas chambers.

He was a soldier in one of the most fanatical divisions in Hitler's war machine. As a member of the SS, Heinrich Steinmeyer expected little mercy as he surrendered to British troops towards the end of the Second World War.


But instead, he says he was treated with humanity by both the troops who captured him and the guards at the Scottish prison camp where he was kept until the end of the war.


Sixty-five years later, Mr Steinmeyer has pledged to leave his home and life savings of £430,000 to elderly residents in the village of Comrie, Perthshire, as a gesture of gratitude.
