This is not the first time I've heard this prat spouting dangerous 'Libdem green' policies. Does he imaagine for one second that the emerging economies of China, India and Brazil give a fuck about green issues? He and Clegg are going to bankrupt this country or at the very least hinder the recovery if he burdens businesses with unnecessary taxes. Money that should be going into promoting employment and growing businesses instead of hindering them!
It hasn't to the best of my knowledge happened here yet, but in Spain whenever a decent size shop shuts, it opens the next week as a 'Chinese Bazaar', selling all types of cheap, plastic shite. the worst thing is you enter at your peril or you end up with more crap that you will never use, that will end up at the back of your kitchen cupboard along with the microwave poached egg, toasted sandwich and bread makers.
I suppose when they cost fuck all to make then you can sell them for nothing. The Chinese don't have any workers' rights, they don't get a pension or disability benefit. Is that the measure of a civilised society?

"Enlightened" from a legislator is always a codeword for their belief that we, the people, are inferior to them our servants, and to hell with democracy and accountability.
A person like that might even feel that the law did not apply to them!

Everythng humans do at present involves producing shite we do not need, people transporting it, people selling it, people buying it on ever increasing debt, and then it being dumped when it is no longer wanted - using valuable rapidly decreasing resources for shite that is going to kill us off sooner, rather than, later.
The east is only doing the same as we did only we are all going to go down the pan together unless we find another way of doing things.
Huhne has seven houses and is going out with an ex rug muncher. How can someone who owns 7 houses lecture anyone about reducing their carbon footprint ? Oh and he speeds everywhere as well so obviously doesn't give a fuck about CO2 emissions. Not that CO2 matters with the coming ice age due to spots not being on the sun or something. The next scam will be fighting the global cooling with people being fined if they don't keep a bonfire of wet leaves going throughout the year to keep their CO2 emissions up to fight global cooling.
