WHY IS BRITAIN GIVING INDIA, 2ND FASTEST GROWING ECONOMY IN THE WORLD, £1BILLION IN AID?

Money: India has three times as many billionaires as Britain

Why is a poverty stricken country, us, giving £1,000,000,000 in aid to India?  They have their own space programme at a cost of £1.7 billion.  Their defence spending of £23 billion would be grabbed by our armed forces, who are reputedly fighting for oil and gas in Afghanistan without proper equipment.

Whilst our economy is faltering, the Indian economy is forging ahead, second only to China in growth.  This is what we elect our politicians to see to and they are patently not doing their job.  Cameron is shutting down all sorts of public facilities from libraries to swimming pools and yet, he can give our money away to countries who obviously don't need it.

What is going on?

Not only does India have its own space program and the worlds 4th largest military, both what was British Steel and Jaguar/Landrover are now both Indian owned (TATA).

It also has its own independent nuclear deterrent unlike us with Trident, where we can't launch them without Obammys say so and therefore have as much deterrent as a short sharp stick, but we can't even maintain the fuckers either.

Yet we're giving these fuckers aid???

"India has 69 dollar billionaires compared to Britains 29" half of whom are also Indian (and good luck to them).

We are giving India £1B so that they can buy our redundant aircraft carriers and battle tanks.

Talking of growing economies, I'm sure this comes as no surprise...

Budvers, the whole thing is ridiculous. WE have been taking over by the Commonwealth! As far as Trident goes, it is absolutely fucking hopeless and I don't know why we can't share with France after all they were 'on' our side in the last two biggies.

Banned, we should be selling the fucking things at a profit. What would happen if at some time in the future they invaded us with all the weapons we have sold them. That would be a turn up for the books, an Indian Raj!

Passengers, hah my Israeli friends. I wonder how quick they'd grow if they weren't getting billions from the west the US and us at the top of the list.

Maybe our government feels guilty about all the money and resources they ripped off from them when we used to go around stealing peoples countries and is giving them some of it back.

Billy, by "Ripping off" you mean building a network of roads & railways, a civil service, a parliamentary political system, a military, tea plantations, a system of law, unifying and civilizing the tribal regions and don't be giving me any of this India had an advanced civilisation 4000 years ago when the Brits were still swinging through the trees bollox, as the Brits hadn't left India 20 mins before they were hacking each other to pieces with machettes.

Yes the Indians just loved being outfielders. Catching the cricket ball for the ancestors of fossilised spivs like Cast Iron and Gideon.

Budvar - Just where did Britain get all this money to do the things you say?

We also had the biggest navy in the world back then as well.

They got the money by invading other peoples countries and robbing them of their resources, money and using them as cheap labour.

Notice how quickly Britain fell from being great when they lost all their ill gotten gains from these countries.

Every where Britain has left they have left a legacy of their colonial interference from the middle east to Ireland.

Billy, if you look closer you will find that the costs of colonialism generally fall on the state, whereas the benefits generally accrue to private individuals or corporations. This was as true in the days of the Raj as it is now. Certain Britons benefited enormously from the Raj, although the mass of the population didn't. Today, the costs of aid fall on the state and the benefits fall to the corporations who make the hardware that is "bought" with that money. Most of that "aid" isn't really money, it's all earmarked to be spent on stuff UK plc produces. All in all, it's just another way for the Government to give public money to their friends in private industry. The Indians are just acting as middlemen and collecting their dustoorie.

Billy, we the common people didn't get any thing apart from some shit employment. When employment costs got too high they shipped in Bangladeshis and Pakistanis to fill the gap and British people were put out of their shit jobs by people who would work for even shitier wages.

Yessimassa, do you think Cleggy could put bat to ball?

Billy, they didn't have to rip anyone else off they had Scottish oil right on their doorstep and they squandered it on shite.

Dark Lochnagar said...

Bayard, welcome to the blog. What you say is absolutely correct. If you're going to come on here, talking sense I might have to bar you! :)

Bayard and DL - Agree with what you both say but the oil is only a recent thing DL - That is why they are still hanging onto Scotland. When that goes it will be ta ta to the union from the English side of the border.

Billy, I hope at least that our share of the Falklands oil is written into the agreement.
