Hmmm, Brave new world indeed. If there is this global cadre of investment bankers who control the world, its far away from us cannon fodder on the trading floor. There has always been a sharp division between the traders and bankers. It was no surprise to me that the investment bank that was allowed to fold was the once blue-chip Lehman Brothers which had been remade in the image of CEO and quintessential blue-collar trader Dickie Fuld. Traders are an easy target for public hatred, because like premiership footballers, they have conspicuous life styles. It was interesting to me seeing the change in the make-up of a dealing room during my brief career. Certain markets when I started where dominated by the more rough and ready street smarts types, these gradually lost favour to more educated, thoughtful types.
Its interesting that most employees and even those on benefits are forced to have bank accounts to receive their money. You can certainly control people when you control their money.
I see he's reading 'Brave New World' Aldous Huxley's tome about life in the future where we're all killed off at 50 with a soma pill. Life is great until you're 50 then it's away you go as you're too old to contribute meaningfully. I assume the banker was laughing because he thought it was easier than that. Just tax and work people until they drop.( maybe that's why it has 'revisited' on the cover.)

Antonio, you could imagine then, if everyone was 'chipped' and to access your financials or indeed the doctor or any service they had to read your chip. They would have total control over you because they could turn the chip off like a sim card on a phone. I think the coterie of Bankers he talks about are the Rothschilds and their ilk who control 99% of all the important national banks like the Bank of England and the Fed. Everytime money moves from one country to another they get their percentage. The charge the American Government to collect their tax dollars, issue money and loan it back to the Government. Google it. It's incredible.

What you say about working until you drop is quite true. The national insurance system has been described as the biggest Ponzi scheme in history . Simply put it cannot work, When my father left school at 15, the life expectancy of someone in Govan in his situation was around 54. At least 10 years younger than the national average. The idea was that he would work until he died, if by some miracle he made it into retirement he would not last long because of the famously unhealthy lifestyle of Glaswegians. so he would be a net contributor to the system. He has screwed the predictions of the actuaries by living into his early seventies so he is no longer a contributor but has for some time been a recipient. If he was a good citizen in the brave new world he would have died when his industry, (merchant navy), declined. The solution is now way beyond any government. Some people argue that demographics are the problem, that if we had more young people the balance would be restored. That is true as long as the new generation have jobs that contribute enough to the system to pay for the increasing health care and benefits given to the older generations. Without enough high paying jobs, the NI system will, like all pyramid schemes collapse. The vast majority that joined to late to benefit will lose their contributions this is inevitable.
Antonio, I know, even at 56 I'm being threatened with the fact that I'll have to work until I'm 70, What happened to 65 FFS. Christ, in Greece they retire at 55 or some such age and they don't have to pay for heating in the winter.
