THIRD WORLD SWEAT SHOPS ARE PART OF THEIR COUNTRY'S EVOLUTION

Many football tops, running vests and trainers on sale in the UK are made by sweatshop workers toiling long hours in hazardous conditions without trade union-rights, according to documents published by sportswear companies.
Two days before the Commonwealth Games begin, an analysis by The Independent of labour inspections by Nike, Puma and Adidas, the world's top brands, identified 281 rogue factories, whose failings ranged from the unsatisfactory to the abysmal.
Low pay and long hours are common in workshops but some also use bonded or prison labour, ban collective bargaining, threaten and harass workers and force women to undergo pregnancy testing. "Less productive" workers face the sack.
What these liberal arseholes don't realise is that this is part of the natural evolution of these third world countries.  Exactly the same thing went on here two hundred years ago and we have become the developed nation that we are today.  We didn't have someone from Mars, because there was no one else, telling us that child labour was bad and people should only work 40 hours and get an hour off for their lunch etc.
These countries will evolve and realise that the workers have some rights.  There will be better and better employers.  A school system for everyone under 15 will come into being as the country gets wealthier, unless of course the leaders steal all the wealth as usual.  If they do, is that our problem?  Sorry, I don't think it is.  Let them sort it out and stop telling the world what to do, Britain.

Exactly my thoughts when the liberal press tried to get me upset with pictures of 'child labourers' being 'forced' to help errect seating for Indias Commonwealth Games stadia.

What the daft cunts don't understand is that they are part of the family firm doing their bit in as joint enterprise, no different than looking over the stove or otherwise helping with the housework.
The alternative would be ruin and starvation for the whole family.

Meanwhile Indias middle class has expanded to equal half the size of the entire US population; yes it's 'sad' that not everyone can leap on the bandwaggon at the same time but that will come.

Here and now in Britain the scurviest of our undeserving poor lead lives of unimaginable splendour compared to their counterparts just a few generations ago and that has nothing to do with hand-wringing libsocialism.

Banned, you're right. These liberal cunts don't understand the progression of things. Not every country in the world can evolve at the same rate! Let the kids make a few bob, it will teach them a valuable lesson in later life.

You are right on this DL. Our country went through it, anyone who thinks pre-industrial Britain was some agrarian utopia is living in cloud cuckoo land. then came the industrial revolution and the dark clouds over cottonopolis with stories of workers being chained to their machines and young kids retrieving coal from the mines. In fact, there are some views that one of the driving forces of slavery in the colonies was that Africans lasted better in the heat of the cotton and sugar plantations than whites did. The difference is, of course, that with the increasing wealth of the UK we developed a class of factory owners that felt a social responsibility whereas in Asia it seems that the newly rich are highly reluctant to spread the wealth. I know of factory owners in Guangdong who pay below minimum wage in China and say that if they pay more the American and European companies will take their contracts elsewhere. They also have started looking at relocating their factories to Viet Nam and Indonesia as Chinese workers become to expensive, (the GDP per head in China is about $2,400 per year).

Yo Darkie,(heh heh)

Next time you watch an advert for Nike etc, spouting off about fair play or sporting prowess etc compare the image of their product with the reality.

Multi billion dollar corporations making millions for their wealthy share holders of the back of some wretched slave.

Thats the reality, the Indy does us all a favour by highlighting the hypocrisy, information allows us to make informed choices.

Antonio, it just goes to prove what I am saying, works. There is now a burgeoning middle class in China and the money will trickle down society. If they're taking work to other countries that have cheaper workers it will happen there as well. Not before of course 10 million Chinese starve to death, which is a good thing in the bigger scheme of things for two reasons, well three. 1. There are too many of the fuckers. 2. The afore mentioned middle class are wanting cars and therefore using up our oil. 3. All these Chinese are putting a strain on food supplies. Have you seen the price of water chestnuts. Fucking ridiculous!

Strewth,

Calm down laddie its Friday,

I prefer to know the reality than to live in ignorance whats Liberal about that, whats Liberal about wanting others to benefit from a fair wage and decent working conditions?

You got shares in Nike or somthin?

I don't buy any of their shite anyway DL as they are ripping off the mugs here with their prices. It only costs around a tenner to make the things and look at what they charge for them. Of course the mugs want the best so the dearer the better to boast about how cool, or thick more like, they are.

Dark Lochnagar said...

Stanners, no. But knowing it's unfair isn't going to change it. They'll just move to another country. We or Liberty or Shamikebabi or Mahathma Ghandi or whoever, should mind our own fucking business and let these countries develop without interference. Fuck me. We stopped the slave trade, what more do they want? I am told on Twatter that, sweets made by child labourers are the best you can get, because, 'the salt of their tears adds to the taste of the caramel', @darklochnagar .

Dark Lochnagar said...

Billy, you have to encourage other countries if they ant to progress. By buying them you keep a few weans in employment who would otherwise be starving. Not that I give a fuck, it means they'll be more water chestnuts at a decent price and they'll be plenty oil.

There are 2,000 Chinese students with places at my local University this year (500 each in foundation and years 1,2 &3) not to mention next years postgraduates, all paying 'Top Dollar'. This is replicated in several other UK cities and much more so throughout the USA. (They want to be educated in English speaking countries in the hope of landing a job with a western firm which pay more then X-Communist tertiary outfits back home).

Who pays for them to usurp places denied to our own talented youngsters? The Chinese State or local Communes? No, the private wealth of individual families, this from a country that just forty years ago did away with 'money' in the Cultural Revolution much praised by Brian Wotsisname ( Redhead ?)of the BBC Schools Programme Unit who I recognised at the time was some sort of cunt.

And was that the result of "oh nhooo, pleeease don't exploit the cheeeeldren" brigade? Was it fuck, they just buckled down and got on with it which our LibSoc/Com fucktards may or may not belatedly realise as their privileged but lazy offspring face competion from well educated, well motivated Chinese masses take control despite that countrys lack of educational infrastructure, yet.

That is the model that India should (is to?) follow, not lefty trendy libfucks.

Darkie me old mucker,

Why you getting your kilt in a flap about it anyways?, while repeating you dont "give a fuck",no one`s asking you to burn your Nike Air and make your own clogs out of recycled newspapers in support of the chiiiildren!

Fact is some folks have more empathy for others than you do,whats wrong with taking on the multi billion pound corporations who make massive profits for a hand full of people by paying shit wages, ignoring dangerous working conditions, denying workers/slaves any voice or rights and backing brutal bosses.

Then having the cheek to charge us mug punters shit loads for their crap.Whats Nike done for you lately?

Dark Lochnagar said...

Stanners, let me tell you what Nike has done for me. Fuck all, that's what. But they have spent considerable money setting up sweat shops where the kids can get a job and help to feed their families. Before that they would just be hanging about street corners, chewing the fat as kids do, talking about who was shagging who and if they'd just got to the tits or whatever. These corporations may make a few bob and why not, that's the way of the world. You and your family moved over here from Darkie Land to exploit us gullable Whiteys and took our jobs by offering to work for sweatshop rates. Don't you Nike me!

DL,

I agree this is evolution in 3rd world countries.
I also agree that Britain should stay out of the affairs of their lands also, seeing as our country evolved the same way.

However.....

I'd rather see Britain making the T-shirts, shoes, toasters, TV's etc etc, instead of being produced en masse in China. We're giving Chinese jobs, so that their economy can grow and thus enable them to send their offspring to Banned's local university.

Free trade was brought in to destroy our manufacturing base and the direct result has been growing queues of British unemployed. Mandelson says that British workers should be looking for work abroad. Bourneville chocolates of Birmingham moved their business to Poland and the result for the owners is humoungously cheaper labour, yet still charging the same prices and more here in the UK for their chocolate.

By having British companies employing their own staff and therefore putting up the cost of everything it guarantees work. And of course, you live by your means, which is of course, not everyone can buy their kids playstations, XBox's and trainers as is today. It would bring back some respect into society and utterly do away with this 'materialistic - me, me, me' society prevalent today. Children would value money at an early age and they wouldn't be spending ridiculous prices on trainers, equivalent to half a week's wages either. They wouldn't have what they want, but they'd have jobs and independence.

We need to stop importing goods and making them for ourselves. That way we lower unemployment drastically. If we don't, we're headed into becoming no different to an India, China, or former soviet block country. Why should we have to clean up the mess of Communism, even though we are turning into a communist state?

Ello,

DL said,

"But they have spent considerable money setting up sweat shops where the kids can get a job and help to feed their families."

Ahh but they haven`t "spent considerable money" have they, thy`ve spent the bare minimum and pay the bare minimum and spend the bare minimum on safety etc all the while projecting an image of being squeaky clean.

What these kids should be doing in an ideal world is going to school and adults working there for a fair wage and in safe conditions.

I`ve nothing against corporations and shareholders making money, but using child labour because they are dirt cheap and easily used, denying workers safe working conditions and forbiding them any representation while making billions in profits is in my opinion wrong.

DL said "You and your family moved over here from Darkie Land to exploit us gullable Whiteys and took our jobs by offering to work for sweatshop rates."

Hahahah you wish,it would be convenient for you if my family and I fitted neatly into you stereotype.

My parents didnt come here to "exploit" anyone,in fact my father was offered employment by a large international company due to his technical design skills, my mothers a self employed artist, they pay their taxes and obey the law.

I as you know was born here I`m also a partner in a small security business we built from scratch, now employing 12 people 8 of them as you would call them indigenous and all paid a fair wage by the way...;)

Hi Stan; good for you. My best mate was born here (England) of Anglo-Saxon stock, worked with a UK NI number as a schoolboy; aquired admirable qualifications as a Special Needs teacher in Physical Educatian from UCLA; got a suitable post lookng after said special needs kids with physical eduction. He went for a (dirty) weekend away to Prague, came back via Heathrow, mentioned "work" and promptly got locked up in the Dover illegal migrant facility with all the Albanian drug lords and Romanian kiddie pickpockets; this despite protests from his employer (School with Special Needs, Physical Education ) that he was uniquely able to do that job.
I spoke with his then housemates, one of whom worked for the Home Office; seems they love to deport the odd white boy in such circumstances since they can then point at them when accused of "racism".

His younger brother was, at the time, defending UK plc as a USAF fighter pilot in Norfolk, England, at the time that his bro was being deported as an 'illegal migrant' yet folk wonder why I have a problem with illegal fucking migrants??? WTF?

Harbingers, I agree it would be better making things here but companies are now bigger than some Governments and have the politicians in their back pocket. Manufacturing all this tat in this country would help us here but the companies would just import cheaper ,material from abroad and how many people in this country would be altruistic enough just to buy British at the tills if it cost three times the price. Certainly not parents buying their kids Christmas presents BTW I don't as you know have kids but I am amazed at what people spend at Christmas. WE knew people who had two kids, early teenagers. Now he worked in the pub and she was a cleaner, so not the most upwardly mobile couple but she would spend £15000 per year on presents and work her ring off all year to pay for it. Fucking unbelievable. I'm afraid unless Governments could control the companies which they can't , your old world is not going to happen whatever it's merits. We are now in the global economy and it's how we handle that, which is important. We will just have to stay ahead of the game inventing and innovating until the oil runs out and we can return to a local economy.

Dark Lochnagar said...

Blackie, OK shut the sweat shops and we'll all just wear stuff made locally as outlined by Harbinger and the country will be the better for it. The Chinese and the Indians and all the rest of them can starve because there is no work and we won't be importing shite toilet bowls, (excuse the language), from China and they won't import, fuck knows what, from us and we can have international trade wars which will result in the third world war and millions will be killed because this time, someone will, use the nuclear bomb and all this, because you a guest in our country don't want to wear a Nike Chelsea strip! Fuck me, Armageddon and it's all your fault.

I'm glad to hear that your parents pay their taxes, which is not the case with all you Rastafarians. In saying that it's good that you have grasped Whitey's generosity and education and have managed to set up a company which doesn't just employ your Yardie pals. I suppose if it's a security company your clients won't want to see too many black faces. I hope your company goes from strength to strength and you employ many more of your hosts.

Banned, if your friend was born here did he not have a British passport or at least dual nationality with, I presume the US? I'm mystified why he was detained?

banned said...

DL, it is because his father was a US Army Airforce Officer, his mother stayed in England when he returned home; they had three sons, she took up with a new boyfriend but she died when my mate was 15 years old. The older brother then died, the step-dad tried to make it work but it didn't so real Dad was tracked down and agreed to take take the two remaining sons hence the American passport.

Under legislation as it then stood the fact that his FATHER was American while his (lesser person) Mother was English for some reason denied my mate the right to return.

Under the human rights act my mate would have been allowed to stay in England and work, because his only remaining family are some aunts and cousins still here but it seems that only applies to those born after a certain date.
I urged him to seek judicial review but, not wanting to rock the boat, he let himself get administered out of the country.

Dark Lochnagar said...

Banned, I would have thought if he was born here, he should have an British passport or at least dual nationality. It's a strange one right enough. I think I would have been doing the same, but who would want to stay in this shithole anyway.

He did.
