IF THAT WAS A 'SPECTACULAR SUCCESS', I'LL HATE TO SEE IT WHEN CAMERON MAKES AN ARSE OF IT!

David Cameron yesterday claimed to have achieved a "spectacular success" over European spending, despite accepting that Britain would have to hand over £430m more to Brussels next year.

I'll hate to see it when he makes an arse of it.  He wanted a freeze and now he's got a 3% increase, which was voted on 6 weeks ago.  What a prick!  I hope he wises up sharpish.  Almost makes you nostalgic for Maggie and her handbag!

6-9% increases were being quoted by Daves 'people' last week in the hopes that 2.9% would look like some sort of victory but , hay Dave, we ain't stoooopid and we all remember you demanding a zero increase and even a reduction.

ConLib coalition reduced to spin and lies no better than the regime of Filth vacated by dirty old Brown.

And another thing, Dave claims some sort of victory for getting "the agreement of the heads of state" of 10 or 11 other members to limit future increases; that is not a Binding Agreement and it isn't even a majority since the other 15 can tell him to fuck the fuck off (and probably did).

What Banned said - in spades.

heckmonwykerrs, welcome to the blog. You get a better discussion here than on Twattter.

The Commission are still pushing for 6% and this 2.9% is not a done deal, I understand. The Polish leader says that we are not showing faith in the EU by not passing the 6%. It would give us more faith in the EU, if they even had the auditors pass the EU accounts for the last 12 years. They shouldn't get a penny more, until they get their house in order, IMO.

Banned, I said it 3 days ago, he talks like a Tory and walks like a LIBdem. He's got as much backbone as a jellyfish.

Banned, he's got fuck all agreements. He made a big play and got stitched up like a kipper. (Do kippers get stitched, or is that a mixed metaphor, my brain has shut down!)

So Dave thought he won a 'great victory'. He wanted a freeze but thinks he might get a 2.9% increase. Like you said DL it's not even certain that 2.9% will be the actual increase. It's not up to Dave. They could opt for a 50% increase and we would have to pay it. Under the Lisbon Treaty we have no veto. The European Council are being asked to keep it at 2.9% so might indulge us this time. But they might not and there's nothing we can do about it.
Oh and did you hear Dave yesterday ? No need for a referendum on the new plans from Europe ( the plans to scrutinise our books before agreeing to our UK budget ). The EU hasn't managed to balance or legally sign off it's own books for 15 years due to billions in 'errors'.

Headson, settle down, it's your youthful exuberance! It all comes in circles. Just keep working and speaking against big business and the EU and it may change. I would say that the EU would be ceded from right now if there was a vote and the bastards won't give us one. That is not the politicians, but their masters.
