WTF IS WRONG WITH THE SCOTS?

As things stand in Scotland, we might have not bothered going to the polls yesterday.  Sat on our big, fat, lardy, subsidy-junky arses and left it up to to the English to change the Government.  A Labour government led by the most unpopular PM in history.  A country changed from being 13 years ago, a green and pleasant land to one where totalitarianism, State power and celebrity are the norm instead of the traditional avenues to success of hard work and family values and where respect for you neighbours has become an anathema.
Indeed the Labour vote in Scotland has actually gone up!  So what was the reason?  I think the SNP vote was more damaged by not being part of the Leaders' debates that even we, in the SNP thought.  I think Brown's popularity is higher in Scotland than we took account of.  With most of the day to day running of the country now being done by the Scottish Parliament, the electorate don't feel Westminster has the same impact.  The Tories in Scotland haven't had a effective Leader since David McLetchie.  Annabel Goldie, she of the outraged face, is a disaster.

There have been very few times in my life when I have been ashamed to be Scottish.  Today is one of them.  However, if the Tories form the next Government, then I believe Scotland will be independent before the next five years.

Whilst it is clear that the Conservatives have won the most seats (without achieving a majority) and that Cleggmania has hit the buffers, it is also clear that in Scotland the Conservatives have once again been soundly rejected by electors.

It is time to give Scotland independence. Let them go their own way and stop being a sop on the English taxpayer. In return, England would get the majority Conservative Government it has clearly voted for.

The result demonstrates that Scotland has a different political ethos than England - we are different countries - this is a triumph for nationhood. The next step, surely, is to formalize this fact through an independence referendum that will come from the Holyrood parliament - not Westminster.

Labour's feebleness to protect Scotland's interests within the UK will be exposed and folks will draw the inevitable conclusion that only with independence can Scotland's aspirations be achieved.

That's my view and I'm sticking to it.

Id love Scotland to become independent too. That way, New Labour would be utterly crushed in England there-after....

However, wouldn't a New Labour/Socialist alliance then fuck Scottish independence up also, by plotting from within?

UKIP for me said...

UKIP at least stopped the Tories getting a majority and forced the hung parliament. Something the SNP were hoping for...

Seats where UKIP's number of votes exceded margin of Tory defeat include:

1. Telford
2. Somerton and Frome
3. Plymouth Moor View
4. Morley & Outward
5. Newcastle Under Lyme
6. Bolton West
7. Great Grimsby
8. Walsall North
9. Walsall South
10. Southampton Itchen
11. Dorset Mid & Poole North
12. Wirral South
13. Solihull
14. Wells (LD gain from Con)
15. St Austell & Newquay
16. Dudley North
17. St Ives

There may be others.

Tories won 306, and add Thirsk to make 307. Add on the 17 UKIP denied them = 324 (as only 646 MPs take their seats, this is a majority)

It was UKIP wot won it!

Daisy, firstly I wish the fuck was in Naples. Anyway I believe in social justice too, but sometimes you begin to wonder how many times people can be fucked by a system and then vote for it again?

Dark Lochnagar said...

Honourable Fred, actually in the last three Labour victories the Scottish Labour vote wouldn't have made any difference. But yes, this is the kind of feeling, me as an Independence supporter, wants to see coming from England and BTW, I don't blame you.

Dark Lochnagar said...

Scunnert, the first is indeed a triumph for nationhood, the second proves we are as thick as fucking mince. We have had the life and brains sucked out of us by 60 years of Socialism.

Dark Lochnagar said...

Dazers, don't be too sure that an England without Scotland would be Tory, see answer above to Fred. I think personally that an independent Scotland would shake off over time it's socialist shackles and be the enterprising country our history tells us we can be.

UKIPPERS Well done! It's just a pity you didn't take Bercow's seat, particularly after that publicity stunt Farage pulled!

My internet was down when I got home six hours ago, just as well since I would have been rudely demanding to know what you Scotch twats were up to.

44 per fucking cent of you cunts voted Labour: WTF?
That compares to a meagre 23% of we English so it is ALL YOUR FAULT that the Brown monster continues to lurk at No.10, thanks very much.

Dark Lochnagar said...

Banned, correct, it could be this time or it could be UKIP, (see above), it didn't make any difference the last three times Labour got in. You'll need to blame your Welsh chums or your northern English neighbours. Sorry on behalf of my part of Scotland, anyway.

Fear makes men do strange things, clearly Labour voting types are bricking themselves, otherwise it just defies logic and common dog fuck!

Daisy, it takes an extremely stupid person to keep on voting for the system that keeps them in poverty. How disappointingly thick our countrymen are.

UKIP for me Thank you for that, please keep us updated. As I see it Dave has had to grovel to the libbtards because he aliented smoking Eusceptics like me who refused to vote for his local candidates, whatever their merits.

Banned, if you end up with a Labour government this time which England didn't vote for, remember that the Scots didn't vote for Thatcher or Majors' governments either but we got them. Not that that was any problem for me personally but I know one or two who were a little miffed.
