Labour's deputy leader Harriet Harman says a major shake-up in the law is vital to smash the idea that people are 'past it' once they hit 65. In an interview with Dark Lochnagar Miss Harman, who will today announce a fast-track Government review of the retirement age, said it should be scrapped. Britons would be forced to work beyond 65 and would not have the option to choose to - meaning they could be forced to work on into their 70s or even their 80s.
The change in the law would cover staff who have already signed contracts that say they will retire at the normal age. It would also alter the point at which the state pension can be claimed.
We've worked hard all our days, Harman YOU BITCH. We haven't all got gold plated PENSIONS LIKE YOU, YOU ARSEHOLE!
PAY US A DECENT PENSION AND LET US RETIRE AT 65!

DL this is just the start, child slavery will be back under the guise of anti-ageist incluisivity. She and her brood will never have to work ever becasue they spout the correct mantras and jump through the hoops for their masters. Muppets and monkees the lot.
I don’t see your problem because life expectancy in Scotland (according to the lunatics in Edinburgh who are running your asylum) is so low anyway.
Male life expectancy in Ayrshire is 63.3 and in parts of Glasgow it is 54.
The more pertinent question is should you Jimmies scrub round old age pensions altogether?
INCOMING!!!! I am glad I've haven't had any children or else my Great Grandchildren could end up going up chimneys to clean them. This is the thin edge of the wedge, the start of a sticky pole! We must revolt now and save the future generations.
The Libthingies can put in who they like. They're not going to get elected. The best candidate should get the job , regardless of colour or sex.
DL, I think you misunderstand me. If each and every party are obliged in law to field ethnicly, sexuality, disability and otherwise diverse candidates then their very core voters might be inclined to vote eleswhere just as a "fuck off" to those who decided that.
Hope that makes sense, bit pissed just now.
It would make sense to ban the Parties anyway - they are anti-democratic; they just attract power mad, self opinionated meglomaniacs like HH and GHB.
Role on Rousseau.
I think 50 is a good age to retire as it allows you to enjoy your retirement while you're still young enough.
I watched Harriets speech this morning on my satellite tv in Marbella and she talked about 'the wellderly'. Meaning the well elderly. That's me !
Stouters, I have to admit, you are adding a touch of class to the comments on this blog. Fancy a squaddie knowing about Jean-Jacque. To quote from your fave revolutionary, "The English think they are free. They are free only during the election of members of parliament". Role on indeed. Interesting times!
Sir Fred, have you told that maid to get my room ready for the second fortnight in July yet. I'll e-mail a list of dietary requirements nearer the time. I thought the room that faces over the pool would be nice, the one with the large balcony that catches the early morning sun. See you soon.
Banned, sorry missed your comment. I take your point. The only problem is that they might vote for the BNP. Now as such, that doesn't bother me too much because if they got a few seats the rest of the fuckers might get their act together and actually give us policies that we the electorate want, like tighter immigration, hanging and banishment from these shores for Blair.
DL
Yes it's all organised. You've got the room overlooking the pool.
We've got a bukkake organised on the monday night and you and yours are welcome to attend. Rab and his missus have agreed to come so it should be good.
Sir Fred, never mind the Bukkake, can't we just have a Barbeque instead?
No problem DL. You can just have the bbq.
Rab C's missus wants a good spunkfest but I'll just give her one in the face for you. Seeing as you're a mate.
OK Dark, so what are the special dietary requirements?
Plato said that a rich and unhealthy diet was a sign of ignorance; in fact he thought that it caused the sort of destructive language and mindset displayed in your witticisms.
Socrates, who was Plato’s inspiration, said that “You should stick to a diet of breads and cakes, figs and peas and beans, roast berries and acorns, olives and cheese and country stews of roots and vegetables”.
Socrates believed that “living excessively would eventually lead to illness and greed a desire for your neighbour's land and ultimately war”.
For the sake of your loyal students cut out the rich food it’s fuelling your ridiculous and bellicose attitude to your English masters; luckily we know that it’s just the deep fried Mars Bars washed down with Bell’s whisky talking, that’s why we don’t take you too seriously.
Sir Fred, you see the thing is Rab only lives 10 miles from me and I'm round giving his wife the old pearl necklace once or twice a week, while he's on night shift. So a BBQ would be preferable. Get her to keep her glasses on.
Stouters, I think it was Robiespierre who said, "Marie Antoinette was wrong. Never mind eating cake, give them deep fried Mars bars". This of course led to the gloroius revolution where the heads of the so called superior ruling classes were whipped offf with alacrity. Much the same is happening now. I agree that a diet of Olives, Figs and Peas would be preferable but they are in short supply in Scotland in January, particularly under three inches of snow. As you may have seen from on of the other threads, another 'friend of the blog', Lincoln county who hails from Mississippi claims that the Camelias are starting to show, so there is a definate tilt in the Earth's axis away from those wankers in the southern hemisphere and back to God's children here in the frozen north. So I will be able to plant my peas shortly. Or I may just buy them from Mr Birds Eye.
Bunni, soon they will have quotas on how many children you can have, they will be educated for 15 years and then straight into jobs, where they will work until 80 when they might be given a meagre state pension, just not enough to heat the home so that they die quickly. Talk about 1984. Orwell gave us a picture of a holiday camp. And that's without the EU making rules that no-one apart from us keeps. Any room over there?
