THAI TOURIST BOARD USES PIC OF UIST BEACH TO ATTRACT TOURISTS!
THE perfect white sands and clear blue waters show an idyllic image of a tropical beach. The only sign that all is not quite as it seems is the range of mountains on the horizon.
Tourists to the Koh Chang, a large island in the Pacific Ocean off south west Thailand, are being shown the enticing pictures suggesting they are of Kai Bae beach. However, the hills in the distance are in Harris in the Outer Hebrides, and the beach is actually in Berneray, off North Uist. The Thai government is marketing the area as a premier tourist destination – now seemingly with the help of the Hebridean landscape.
OCHONE, OCHONE, HAMISH! Will you be going to see the HERIDEAN LADYBOYS, performing in the STORNAWAY BRITISH LEGION CLUB! They tell me at half time, the entertainment will be BIG MORAG firing the PING-PONG BALLS out her FANNY! Aye and they'll be dancing and the LADIES OF THE Womens' Institute will be performing one of those STRIPTEASES, getting their UDDERS out for the laddies. For another £2.50 you can be having the Dinner Menu, Scotch Broth, followed by Mutton Pie and Beans with a wee Scotch Trifle to finish and as a special treat, Morag will fire one of her balls into the trifle glass!
