Women have made up almost half of the students on a sheep shagging course held to encourage more young people to become qualified shaggers.

Four women and six men have been learning to shag sheep.

The course's costs were paid for with money from a community benefit fund which wind farm operators pay into.

Well I'm glad that money from the 'renewables' industry is being put to good use, training Highland people the long lost art of sheep shagging.  This is something that is handed down from father to son and mother to daughter.  Modern day inventions such as the 'wool-snaggle' remover have played a major part as well.  It is used to remove those wee smelly bits of wool from the sheep's arse before full sex can begin.

The large influx of Polish sheep shaggers since they joined the EU has also helped keep a traditional skill alive.  The Poles, unfortunately  tend to be tougher on the sheep, often cutting their throat afterwards to stop them from cliping to other members of the flock and this has reduced the sheep shagging stocks, as only some breeds are suitable, like the Horned Black Faced variety, which gives you something to hang onto during the shag.

The Government's £73bn nuclear decommissioning programme is to be accelerated with a radical repackaging of its private sector contracts.

That is why RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES like wind-power and wave-power and carbon capture technologies should be sought with added vigour.   Not because of GLOBAL WARMING, or any other reason dreamt up by some GREEN HIPPY to save Polar Bears but because of the cost involved in cleaning up NUCLEAR POWER STATIONS.  Oh, and the jobs created in the Scottish Economy will also be quite helpful.

SCOTISH GOVERNMENT LOOK TO BE WINNING FIGHT TO SAFEGUARD RENEWABLES INDUSTRY

Alex Salmond has been thrown an unexpected lifeline by the UK Government in his campaign to stop the National Grid imposing punitive charges which threaten the future development of renewable power by Scottish electricity companies.

A six-month consultation by the Department for Energy and Climate Change (DECC) in London has concluded that connection charges should be levied evenly on all developers regardless of where they are located or the difficulty of connecting.  If implemented, this policy would mean that remote sources of alternative energy — such as the Highlands — would not face the current high connection costs which threatened to make many of Scotland’s wind farms unviable.

The notion that you should pay extra to connect into the National Grid because you are further away from the main areas of usage is ridiculous.  Scotland is self-sufficient in power and has a capacity to produce 25% of all Europe's renewable energy. 

There's is a huge potential for this country in terms of employment and wealth in the renewables industry and this time we must not let it be plundered by our near neighbours.  This opportunity must be exploited by Scots for Scots.  If the 'National Grid' wants to discriminate against Scottish producers, fine.  Just construct an UDERWATER CABLE to Europe and we'll export direct to the continent.

INDEPENDENCE IN OR OUT OF THE E.C.?

In a recent poll on the blog, I asked you the question, WHICH OF THE FOLLOWING POLITICAL OPTIONS FOR SCOTLAND DO YOU SUPPORT?


Of the 86% or so who voted for independence, the majority 45%, voted for independence outwith the E.C. This surprised me as it varied greatly from the perceived model of independence as put forward by the only pro-independence party, the SNP.


But this got me thinking. DO WE REALLY WANT TO BE PART OF THE E.C.? Should we not be following the model of Norway and Switzerland, who seem to be doing very well for themselves. We will be one of the wealthiest nations in Europe with all the oil, gas and renewables our country has.

Why should we give that wealth to Europe in the same way as we have to England in the last 40 years?
