BEWARE THIS NEW TECHNOLOGY!

Google has unveiled a new mobile phone which will include a built-in payment system that could eventually replace credit cards.
Google boss Eric Schmidt took the stage to kick off the Web 2.0 summit, a technology conference held annually in San Francisco.
Schmidt confirmed that Google has been working on a sophisticated new computer chip and an upgrade of its Android mobile operating system that will include a payment processing tool.

On first view this looks a fabulous idea.  How convenient instead of using a credit card and putting in a pin number, which after all takes 30 seconds, we can use our mobiles to instantly pay for something.

But, when you think about it, is this just a different route to ID cards and human chipping?  Once we can start to use a phone as a credit card, how convenient would it be to have all our information stored on a sim card.  We could maybe even get state mobiles, with all our medical and personal details on it, that we could use to access the NHS, banking, libraries, transport, shopping, etc, etc.

Now what happens if the State or the Electricity Company or your bank, think that you are a criminal, because you haven't paid a parking fine, or have a dispute with your electricity company or your bank, will they just SIMPLY TURN YOUR PHONE OFF, SO YOU HAVE FUCK ALL ACCESS TO ANY SERVICES?

We should think about it carefully, before we all rush to embrace this and if we do, remember in 20 years time, where you heard it first!

DRONE PLANES TO MONITOR CIVILLIANS IN BRITAIN!

Unmanned drones similar to those used in Afghanistan are set to be used in Britain to spy on drivers, campaigners, agricultural thieves and fly-tippers, it was revealed today.  A group of government agencies led by Kent Police has commissioned arms manufacturer BAE systems to adapt military-style planes for civilian use.

According to a report published in the Guardian, a prototype drone equipped with high-powered cameras and sensors will take to the skies for test flights later this year.  BAE Systems and Kent police reportedly claim that the drones would 'greatly extend' the government's surveillance capacity and 'revolutionise policing.'

Previously, Kent police have said the drone scheme was intended for use over the English Channel to monitor shipping and detect immigrants crossing from France.  However reports suggest their use could be far more widespread - including detecting theft from cash machines, preventing theft of tractors and monitoring antisocial driving.  The consortium also suggested the drones could be used by councils to combat 'fly-posting, fly-tipping, abandoned vehicles, abnormal loads and waste management'.

Five other police forces have signed up to the scheme, which could pave the way for countrywide adoption of the technology for surveillance, monitoring and evidence gathering.

This to my mind is ONE STEP too far, the 'one that broke the camel's back' moment.  We are already the most surveyed country in the world with CCTV cameras watching our every move.  We can be tracked by cameras the moment we leave our drives until we get to our destination.  We can either start the fightback now by joining campaigns like the NO2ID CARDS on this site or sink further into a BIG BROTHER STATE.

WHY DON'T THEY JUST GIVE US AN ID CHIP NOW AND BE DONE WITH IT!

ID CARD DEVELOPMENT COSTING £230K PER DAY

Almost £230,000 is spent every day on 'Big Brother' identity cards and biometric passports, despite the project being widely considered doomed.

Taxpayers' cash is being lavished on 'development' costs, amounting to a record £42million spent in six months this year - or £229,508 every day.

LibDem spokesman Chris Huhne, who obtained the figures, said 'such enthusiastic spending is brazen'.

He added: Any taxpayer's money spent on ID cards is wasted - they will not fight terrorism, cut crime or halt illegal working.

So Alex, when one of your UNIONIST PALS stands up at FMQs on Thursday and asks how much you are spending on the independence referendum, you can tell him that a scheme that HAS NO CHANCE OF COMING TO FRUITION COST £85 MILLION IN 2008/09.

1989-A YEAR OF MOMENTOUS HAPPENINGS!

Ian Jones, MSN UK News
1989: the year the world changed
From the fall of the Berlin Wall to the first episode of The Simpsons, 1989 was one of the most momentous years in the 20th century.
From the fall of the Berlin Wall to the FUCKING SIMPSONS! Are we as was finally forecast beginning not to be able to differentiate between FACT AND FICTION, between REALITY AND ILLUSION.
Maybe we should just volunteer for our I.D. CARDS now and sit and VEGETATE IN FRONT OF THE FUCKING TELLY FOR THE REST OF OUR LIVES!
