Spain will seek quick approval of laws governing financial regulation during its six-month presidency of the European Union next year, Spanish officials said today.
Diego Lopez Garrido, Spain's minister for European affairs, said Spain wanted new financial supervision laws approved during its presidency, which runs until June 30th. Last week France and other EU countries forced Britain to agree to the creation of three new powerful EU financial regulators.
City leaders have already warned that moves to increase regulation in the City could prompt leading firms to move out of the EU altogether.
Sounds about right. They've fucked our, FISHERIES, HEAVY INDUSTRY, ELECTRONICS, AGRICULTURE and all the rest. Leaving us as a SERVICE ECONOMY, where most of the population work in low paid jobs like McDonalds and cleaning offices. Might as well let them ruin the only thing we have left, which incidentally is reckoned to pay 80% of private sector taxes in this country, FINANCIAL SERVICES.
