NATO PAID SUBSTANTIAL SUM OF MONEY TO A GROCER WHO THEY THOUGHT WAS A TALIBAN LEADER!

Nato chiefs in Afghanistan have been severely embarrassed by a GROCER who fooled them into thinking he was a Taliban commander during secret peace negotiations.
Astonishingly, the ruse went on for two months, during which time the ‘contact’ was paid a substantial sum of money.

He was also flown on a British military plane to three meetings designed to end the insurrection.
Despite suspicions about his identity, nobody disputed his claim to be Mullah Akhtar Mohammad Mansour, one of the Taliban’s most senior leaders.
It was only months later – and after the handover of piles of cash to keep him coming back – that an old friend of Mr Mansour said they had the wrong man.
The impostor has not been seen since the alarm was raised, (no I fucking bet he hasn't)!
American officials have already given up hope that he was Mr Mansour, or even a member of the Taliban at all.
They now believe he was nothing more than a grocer from the Pakistani city of Quetta.

WTF are we doing there?  The Americans have lost billions of dollars, that even accountants can't find, mind you that doesn't surprise me, most accountants couldn't find the hole in their arse.  The whole place seems to be awash with money.  We've gone in there with absolutely no forward planning and are now trying to buy our way out.

It would have been easier to pay the Taliban the money they wanted for the gas pipeline to cross Afghanistan in the first place, (Google gas pipeline and Afghanistan, for interesting results).  But, of course, that didn't suit our friends the bankers, because where there is strife, they can turn a dollar.  You've got to admire their money making skills.

DL, you must know the way to deal with the Afghan tribes was always to bribe them. General Elphinstone even thought he could bribe his way out of Kabul. You are correct that the whole Afghan - Iraq venture has been an entire waste of money. Personally, I think we should have allowed Saddam to take over the whole of Arabia, the only decent Arabs I ever met were Iraqi - can't stand Saudis or Kuwaitis. We could have done business with Saddam after all we have in the past. OK so his human right records were pretty shabby but are they any worse than the rest of the middle East? Actually are they that much worse than China, its not like we are about to stop trading with them is it.

Is it any surprise that South America is now full of respected democracies after Brazil announced the 2 largest oil finds in recent history. I personally have experienced the harsh end of democracy in Indonesia and Nigeria. Both oil producers and major purchasers of outdated British military equipment.

What does surprise me is how weak the US/UK intelligence gathering appears to be. Just imagine the budget of the CIA or MI6. Seems likely that a couple of grand spent in a Karachi brothel might have got better results, the problem with the intelligence agencies is that they are geared up to deal with a cold war that never heated up.

Major, there wouldn't be a problem if we had paid the Taliban what they wanted in the first place, but that didn't suit the bankers.

Tris, in 20 or 39 years when it all comes out, if it comes out, Afghanistan will be seen to have been a major fuckup.

Antonio, the only reason we got rid of Saddam, was fuck all to do with WMD, but because he wanted to sell his oil in Euros instead of the Petrodollar which the Jewish bankers who own the fed can produce as they want it. The whole thing is being run for the benefit of bankers. If you want to know what really is going on in banking, watch this video. Well worth it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6LyVbZbjLZ0&feature=player_embedded

Nothing new in this. Didn't the Americans pay $2m to get a shopkeeper to nobble Megrahi.

Crinkly ARse, yes good point, I had forgotten about that. He is now living a nice life in Australia. Still we'll get him back for the enquiry. Have you noticed how quiet those fucking Senators have got since the mid-term election?

Well you have got to hand it to these Pakistanis when they see an opportunity to make money they take it.

Rosie, it's UNBELIEVABLE. I don't believe it, as that old Scottish, Labour Luvvie used to say.

Billy, I'm told there are some in Paisley posing as Labour Councillors! I would say the Pakistanis are a close second to those other bastards, who I get a row for mentioning, who go by the polar opposite religion!
