R.I.P. THE LABOUR PARTY BRANCH IN SCOTLAND!

THE 'TWA' MUPPETS

From the latest edition of the Scottish Left Review;

We have a Labour ‘movement’ in Scotland which deserve a rapid death. There can never have been a point in time when the Labour Party in Scotland was quite as dreadfully, pathetically pitiful. It has a leader that everyone knows is there on the basis of the ability to take instructions. Its loudest voice appears to have been given to a young careerist by the name of Richard Baker who has decided that self-righteous drivel about ‘knife crime’ and ‘soft on crime’ is how it is going to win in Scotland. It has a ‘health’ policy which would oppose Aspirin if the SNP supported it. This party has become a juvenile, reactionary, third-rate, witless and talentless sack of nonentities with no vision, no principles and nothing to say worth listening to. There are those who think that a decent leader would be all they need to ensure a win in the 2011 election. The fact that there is not a single candidate in the entire Parliamentary Party is telling. That the main choice of the ‘commentators’ was until recently Jim Murphy MP shows just how dislocated from reality the whole scene has become – when he was put head-to-head with someone other than the Daily Record and actual people (not the Daily Record version of ‘actual people’) were asked to rate him, only five per cent thought he was any good. And that’s their best hope? There are still good people in Labour, but they’ve largely given up.

I'm not going to add anything, (thank fuck, I hear you shout).  Except that JIMMY REID, of UCS fame, died today.  I can guarantee one thing.  He won't have died a rich man.  I came to respect him over the years although he was totally the opposite of my political beliefs.  A REAL SOCIALIST AND A DEVOUT SCOTSMAN.  RIP, JIMMY.

The sad thing is that the sad eejits will still vote for the Labour scum.
I saw people shaking Murphy The SKull's hand and congratulating him on being re elected to the house of middens. The twat who sat at gorgons side through lies and fabrications was revered in the leafy suburbs of Eaglesham.
If that useless fucker is revered then there's no hope for Scotland.

At least there is still a left in Scotland that can see what Labour really is.

Twatter, I couldn't agree more. If that fuckpig can get elected in Eastwood, which should be a natural Tory seat and would have a 20k+ maj if it was in England, we should despair. But surely the people must open their eyes soon, or are they more interested in fucking 'Eastender's?

While I agree with everything you have written here , DL , is it not true that the SNP have indulged in similar grievance-mongering mopery for many a long year ?

Indeed , has it not been their sole political strategy until they were confronted with the realities of government ?

I am glad to see encouraging signs from Big Eck that this is no longer the case , but I have also noticed that the old "Party Comrades" find this hard to deal with .

Interesting DL. It seems to me that the Labour Party has run its course.
See http://dioclese.blogspot.com/2010/07/decline-and-fall-of-labour-party.html
It's been dead in southern England for some time, now looks like its joining the Tories north of the border. Trouble is does that lead to a one party state? I suppose there's alays the LibDums...

Oli, the beuty of it is, that I didn't write it. It comes from the latest issue of a left leaning review magazine. They're imploding. Yes, the SNP criped at policies they didn't agree with but when the policy was right or promising they went with it or proposed sensible changes to it. This coterie of fuckpigs, shouldn't be allowed ever, to even be, an opposition party in the Scottish Parliament. They are a fucking joke and as for the 'Gray' man that leads them, he just does what London tells him and he hasn't been heard of since the GE much like Broon, although he pops up in AFrica for a meeting of the 'Knights of Malta' now and again.

Greekers, very interesting. I 've left a comment over at yours but I don't think you will kill off the Labour party unless a credible left wing, Bevannite party springs up and splits Labour, which in truth is no longer a socialist party. It will take a complete change in the mindset of the Scottish people and I genuinely despair at their inability to open their eyes as to what is happening in their country. The SNP problem is that they are a broad church and as such Alex Salmond has to hold both the right and left wings of the party together, but to my mind they are too left wing, but that's only my opinion.

One of the greatest moments in TeeVee history DL was when Reid totally flumoxed Kenneth Williams on the Parky show. It laid bare the gulf between two worlds. The make believe and the real. The make believe has now infected the whole country.

INCOMING!!!!!! I don't remember seeing it, but it would have been wonderous to behold. We, as you say, are now infected by the cult of fame, the more instant the better. We must be getting old. My father will be birling in his grave!

Think we're cross commenting each other!! I just replied to yours on mine, so I won't do it again here.
Just let me say I do enjoy your blog as it's good to have a different perspective. I have several friends up there who also read you regularly. Ditto Rantin Rab.

I won't burn Salmond for you just yet then. Seems the jury is still out.

The trouble with Scottish Labour is it has absolutely no idea what to do in opposition. When it is in opposition in England it does nothing. The Feeble Fifty.

They’ve never been in opposition in Scotland and I think that someone said to Wendy, and later to Gray, you are the leader of the opposition... and they looked it up in the dictionary... and decided that their job was simply to oppose everything, good and bad alike.

It gets worse as we get close to an election that Gray may very well win. Regardless of what is good for Scotland, they oppose for the sake of opposing.

The thought of Gray as our First Minister chills me to the bone.

Greekers, aye Rab's a good read. I think we like yourself, say it as we feel it and that makes a difference. IMO.

Auld Nicky, well he better get his finger out, re independence or I'll send him down.

I disagree with this: 'This party has become a juvenile, reactionary, third-rate, witless and talentless sack of nonentities with no vision, no principles and nothing to say worth listening to'

I'd have changed it to: This party has long been a juvenile, reactionary, third-rate, witless and talentless sack of nonentities with no vision, no principles and nothing to say worth listening to

Everything else I agree with.

Shuggers, well said. I wouldn't disagree with that. Do you think we could arrange for that fuckwit Murphy to get stoned? By some Somalis that is.
