TELEGRAPH JOBS-RELIGIOUS EDUCATION TEACHER UP TO £99,999

THESE YOUNG LADIES LOOK LIKE THEY COULD DO WITH SOME R.E.

Teacher of RE (MS) - The Sanders Draper School
Reference: 0494221
Employer: London Borough of Havering
Location: London
Salary: Up to £99999
Benefits: Mainscale

I was flicking through the online pages of various newspapers looking for stories that might be of interest, when the above job vacancy caught my eye in the 'Telegraph'

Up to £99,999 for a R.E. teacher!  Fuck Me!  This vacancy, although it says London, is actually in Hornchurch which as far as I am aware is well on the outskirts.  The P.M. is only being paid about £20k more for running the country for Christ's sake.  Is it just me, talking pish again or does anyone down that way agree?

DL that is off books. The real deal is 99.99 in Tesco vouchers and a hike in the Andes. All the rest is make believe.

Rosie, unbelievable. I thought they were cutting back. How can you pay a RE teacher a hundred grand, I don't care where it is. I mean it's getting ridiculous. Is Hornchurch well outside London?

INCOMING!!!!! A hike in the Andes sounds very interesting and possibly very spiritual as well. Mind you, it might be better to go to the Himalayas and meet a few Bhuddist monks and get experience of other religions. I could do that!

Those three in the picture look like they could teach the RE teacher a thing or two, DL!

Think it's a misprint, the missus is just about to go onto the main scale. If she was earning £100k I would be running a blog called SNP Tactical Voting ;)

Spidey, If I was a teacher, I know what I would do with those three. Never mind RE, they're well past that. It would be straight to the Gym, where I'd bend.....Enough I'm getting too excited.

TT, yes obviously a Labour council. Well with a bit of luck, they're in for a nasty shock. Isn't it brilliant how we're all hoping Cameron cuts our services!

Oli, This may be a private school, but I can assure you it was a genuine job ad out the Telegraph.

DL, it can't be a private school > "Employer: London Borough of Havering".

Hornchurch is a commuter town in Essex, deprivation cannot be cited as reason for this absurd salary, depravity possibly since it is a very boring place where dogging and swinging are all the rage.

Mind you, an RE teacher no longer just has to drone on about the baby Jesus; he has to be an expert in Christianity (inc various cults therein), Hinduism, Islam, Bahá'u'lláh, Judaism, Budhism, Paganism, Mithras, Sikhs, Atheism, Paganism, Jainism, Zoroastrian and Borneo Cargo Cults worshipping Prince Phillip.

Woe betide any teacher that isn't fully clued up lest he offend some child or its parents.
