IAIN GRAY'S MISUSE OF COUNCIL TAXPAYERS' MONEY TO FUND HIS LEADERSHIP CAMPAIGN!

A RED FACED IAIN GRAY YESTERDAY
(It's maybe the cold wind or the drink)
SCOTTISH Labour Party leader Iain Gray’s campaign for the leadership of the party was indirectly funded by council tax payers, it has been alleged.

It’s claimed local tax payers in East Lothian unknowingly subsidised Labour fund-raising events in Prestonpans.  Both Prestonpans Labour Party and Prestonpans Labour Club gave donations to Mr Gray’s leadership campaign and he launched his leadership bid in the club.  The taxpayers contributed a SUM OF NEARLY £10,000.

Now SNP councillors have demanded Labour pay back the money.  SNP Councillor Paul McLennan discovered the subsidies to Labour when reviewing council-backed community events.  “We take this misuse of funds by the Prestonpans Labour Party very seriously, as I’m sure our constituents would,” Mr McLennan said.

It seems that THE LABOUR LEADERSHIP is good at TAKING MONEY THAT THEY SHOULDN'T.  Just look at GORDON BROWN!

Oh dear I hope this doesn't undermine Elmer Fudd's role as party leader. Every time he speaks he manages to leak votes to the SNP.
Hopefully it will all be straightened out and he will remain leader. And people will lay off of him. Wendy Alexander was worse and it was a blow when she resigned.

Mr Garrow, he's only got until next Holyrood elections until Murphy get's elected. He'll have to be voted out at the next GE unless the boundary changes save him. Story is in the Sunday Post if you want to read it all.

Just read the Sunday Post story ta. Good story. Trifling amounts of money but still wrong. And good picture of Elmer.
I saw a post today that showed that Corus steelworks in Teeside could have been saved by 0.0003% of the bank bailout money being given to them until the upturn kicks in. 1700 jobs gone for such a trifling amount.

Mr Garrow, Yes but the Corus steelworks won't be in a position to offer cushy jobs to the hordes of Labour Mps who will be retiring or getting flung out on their arses after the next election. Just wait until you see how many of them get 'executive Directorships'.

I suppose you're right. I wonder who are the MPs' in Teeside.
This Corus thing just about sums up the state of Britain at the moment.
We give India £600m in Aid. Their steel company Tata ( Tata means 'shit' in Welsh by the way) buys Corus and shuts down the Teeside plant due to a shortfall of £50m. 1700 jobs gone for £50m after we gave India £600m ( India has a standing army of 1.1million, nuclear weapons, space exploration etc).
Oh and the advisor for Tata has just left RBS after the government blocked bonus payments. She also helped sell off Scottish Power to Spain.

From a DTP article...

"The latest high-profile defector is Fiona Paulus, a senior corporate financier who advised Tata Steel on its takeover of Corus and the Spanish energy giant Iberdrola on its acquisition of Scottish Power."

Mr Garrow. Talk about selling the family silver. We're giving them the money to buy it off us. Nothing would suprise me about Bankers anylonger, they're just greedy, money grasping bastards. When I went for my first mortgage you had to go in and see the Bank Manager and if you hadn't had an account there and he didn't know you, or didn't like the cut of your jib you didn't fucking get it.

Mr Garrow, it does seem to require another level of bureaucracy. It would have been better to give us all a share of the banks' money and we could have got the economy going like fuck by spending it!
