STRING THE BASTARDS UP!

FUCK ME, THEY DIDN'T SPEND THE MONEY ON THEIR TEETH ANYWAY!

Elliot Morley, David Chaytor and Jim Devine who are accused under theft laws of illegally claiming almost £60,000 of taxpayers’ money in expenses have employed leading constitutional lawyers to argue that their conduct cannot be tried in a criminal court and that only Parliament can discipline them.

It is feared that the prosecution case against them could be delayed by months of legal wrangling over whether the MPs are right to assert that their actions are covered by parliamentary privilege.  A source close to the case said: “They will attempt to have their cases thrown out before they come to full jury trial.”

If they want to go down that route which will ultimately cost the country £millions we should do what that great PARLIAMENTARIAN, OLIVER CROMWELL would have done if they are found guilty and STRING THE BASTARDS UP on gibbets outside the PALACE OF WESTMINSTER and let their bodies rot, swinging in the wind, to remind the rest of the THIEVING BASTARDS what the PENALTY IS!  (Or am I being a bit extreme)?

Such a pity some traditions have been done away with isn't it DL?

They wouldn't have stolen the money if the first place if they knew they had a chance of being hung, drawn and quartered.

Rosie, This is very true. I can't wait to see pizza face Devine getting his though.

Bugger, I don't know. The stench of a rotting body or two as they walk past to get into the Commons will remind them of their resposibilities!

Come to think of it he does have a face like a cross between a well melted Wellie and a Halloween Cake.

A Bulldug is better looking.

and he will get away with it

My monicker should say it all.

If these crooks are trying to claim Parliamentary privilege to escape prosecution, then Parliament should pass a new law immediately permanently revoking their pension entitlements and cancelling the “resettlement grant” that retiring MPs normally receive when they leave the Commons.

I can’t think of a name for such a law. Perhaps “The greedy cunts comeuppance” Bill?

Headson, you've got the right idea. When's the revolution starting. I'm your man, you're trusted Scottish Lieutenant.

Anybody else catch the interview with Devine on Channel 4?
If not, it's on Old Holborn's site (apologies if cross blogging is frowned upon).
He pretty much admits wrongdoing but doesn't think it is - then goes on to dob in others but not by name.
Hilarious and cringeworthy all in one.

I find it very interesting that non of these MP’s have either denied the crimes or resigned, instead they are disputing the right of the Courts to try them.

The Bill of Rights, that they are relying on, says that the proceedings of the HoP can’t be interfered with by the Monarch, even acting through the Court system.

There is a simple solution – the Speaker should have them locked up, a quick debate organised and they should be put away for a while; justice would be seen to be done and the public would applaud.

Fat chance of course and I can’t help thinking Hanington has been thrown in to try to keep a political balance, his offences seem to be minor compared to some that have been let of the hook.

Blair of course shredded his expense claims – funny that because I’m sure it must have been a mistake (not!)

Stouters, Jim Devine at least is denying he did anything wrong, just moved some money around accounts. There is a vid doing the rounds of him in a Channel 4 interview, he is as guilty as sin. Watch it, it's a case and point in how not to do an interview. The Speaker couldn't do what you suggest because he is as guilty as the rest of them and he would be opening a can of worms. The queen could maybe lock them up in the Tower or something. If they want to use ancient laws then they should have ancient laws used against them. Don't start me on Blair, the fucker.
