323 FATCATS IN QUANGOs ARE PAID MORE THAN THE PRIME MINISTER

The public sector employs 323 'fat cats' who earn salaries bigger than the Prime Minister's, a report has revealed.

The 'rich list' of senior state executives also shows that the number of them who earn more than £1million has doubled in the last year.  The rich list also reveals that more than 800 public sector bosses now enjoy pay and perks worth £150,000 a year - more than most cabinet ministers.

Mr Brown now ranks at just 324th on the list with a salary of £194,000 a year. The figures, drawn up by the TaxPayers' Alliance campaign group, will be deeply embarrassing for the Government at a time when it is struggling to tackle the nation's eye-watering deficit.  They reveal that the average salary for a senior state executive was £225,990 - or £4,700 a week - and the annual cost to the taxpayer of all their salaries added together was £182million.  By comparison, the boss of a private company with a turnover of between £50million and £500million, would expect to earn just £141,440.

It happens every time there is a recession.  The public sector big knobs are the ones who benefit with their inflated salaries and  inflation proof pension.

Sack the lot and put them to work down the mines ( if we have any left ) or the refuse recycling place.

Banned, I would refuse the recycling place too. The mines are all open cast now so the Bastards would get a sun tan!
